1. No at the moment, but it's exactly the same as this one, still got plastic on it. http://www.suerydercareshop.com/
2. If your name begins with R, and you have a P bass.....this is the product for you.
3. Pm's replied to. Looks like this has gone.
4.
I think you will find Alan Spenner did all the studio bass -- Gary played live B
Indeed, worlds apart Spenner and Tibbs. Alan Spenner, wonderful player. Used to see him play with Kokomo. Played a Wal then. Tibbs.....pretty boy....brought in for the videos...got the Ants gig as he wasn't taller than Mr Ant.
5. One of these. Yours for the cost of postage, or pick it up for free. http://www.wembleyguitarcentre.com/Catalog...tar-Stand-GS231 John
6.
Hey, just found this thread again so I thought I'd add a few photo's of the finished beastie.. my favourite bass out of our catalogue! (but then I'm a sucker for the les paul shape and always thought the gibson les paul bass could be so much better!) I'm even seriously considering building a few of these as the first of a range of stock basses and extended range instruments!
These are beautiful, LP is the best looking shape, and that one is gorgeous! Martin from Ace Acoustics in Carey recommended Crimson to me when I said I fancied a custom jobbie! Gonna have to start selling some stuff....
7. Welcome to a fellow south wester! J
8. Hi Zach, glad you're getting out there and playing your upright. Sometimes it's helpful to know what bass you are using, which strings and what kind of music too. But for my pennies worth:- I'm not an expert, and I'm not a sophisticated player, I just like a good old thump. I have a Schaller on 2 of my double basses and I love them and so do the acts I play for. Thomann do them new for just under £100 + pp They're not everyones cup of tea, but there you go mate..... No feedback problems, but, for some, a piezo is the only way, I'll let the proper players talk about those. 9. Don't know if wanted items can be posted here, or not??? But here goes. As above please, I use Schallers on 2 db's and would like another plz. If you have something else other than Schaller to offer please feel free to tell me about it. Many thanks, John
10.
Does that mayonnaise have a weak cheese string?
No but them mayonnaise have tasty tunas
11. I think you've got your answer Stuee by the sound of the tumbleweed. The ProBasses look very nice, but the fret-less market is smaller, so interest is diminished straight away. Also the Squire Vintage Modified fretless falls into a similar price band, and the VM range seem to have established a good reputation. It's frustrating when you don't get an answer I know, but it's nothing personal. .....just blame Fender.
12. Shame Dan, I'd have the fretless jazz off you, if you took the neck off and post it with the body, you could get a smaller box from the supermarket. I've done that a couple of times. Cheers, John
13. I've just bought an interesting Jap ESP strat body with a Modulus graphite neck. But it had no string tree and not the original tuners. I can't seem to find any info on their guitar necks anywhere as I'd like to tidy the whole guitar up and fit a tree. Anybody have experience of Modulus guitar stuff? Thanks, John
14.
Who's the one crying about an un-wiped bass? Oh hang on I think I hear your mommy calling she says your not allowed to go out and play with the band until you wipe your bass. Naughty.
I like the look of this bass, unwiped or not........great build the Tokais' and an all black P is very cool .............but dude, you're not doing your sale any favours on this forum with that sort of reply. John
15.
I think I have a spare pair John. What size/thread do you need? There are two sizes but I believe mine are 1/4 20.
Thanks TPJ, but I've sourced a pair now. John
16.
Ok, new to the upright thing - who should i be listening to to get a feel for the instrument? (awaiting an EUB any day now). I'm looking at incorporating it in my covers band set on some tunes (bluesy/rocky set with the usual wedding tunes in it :-) ) Thanks guys and gals Graeme
Welcome to the world of upright playing Graeme. Once you've started, you won't go back! My only suggestion is try, at this early stage, to get a lesson or two in. It will save a whole lot of pain later on. John
17. Anyone know where I can buy a pair of wheels to fit to a bridge please? I can find them in the US, but not here. Thanks, John
18. SOLD SOLD SOLD Bought these end of August, put them on back up DB, but only played out 3 times. More suited for arco/pizz. Not really a slapping string, bit too high tension for all that stuff. Some fraying on winding ends. £35 posted. Here are some details http://www.wwbw.com/Super-Sensitive-Suprem...6-i1416765.wwbw Photo's later. Cheers, John
19. Thanks for PM's. Just to state I may trade for a 5 string, but really want cash. thanks, John
20.
pm'd
And replied Tom, John
21.
Yes, a bathroom scales measurement would be fine. By the time I can get over there, it will probably be sold. Still, I'm figuring out what I could sell to raise the money.
According to the bathroom scales, which are notorious liars this time of the year, reckon the bass is just under 10lbs. So not that light.
