Some VERY good news at last - live music back by the Spring?
krispn replied to Al Krow's topic in General Discussion
I’d wager everyone in the land want’s this vaccine to be efficacious, efficiently distributed and safely administered. Cautious optimism is neither half full nor half empty it is simply what it is. Let’s get people safely vaccinated, await for the numbers to tell us it is working and we can get back out to gigging when the time is right. -

I honestly feel like this is the perfect iteration of the p bass. I know folks talk about the Sringray being Leo’s evolution of a p bass but if one were to reimagine the p in a modern context it’d hard to overlook the Dingwall interpretation much like how they did with the TBird. The sound is bang on, the neck feels wonderful and the fanned fret/multi scale makes a lot of sense. I know some question the need on a 4 string but it sets it up perfectly for BEAD. It’s in my favour colour too 😬 -

The whole track borrows heavily from the Dua Lipa Future Nostalgia album sound. Similar sound to my ear.

And if you can whip up the tabs for the track too while you’re at it 😂

I believe @Al Krow had a few SA pedals and the hub and eventually bought midi cable too but I don’t think he ever hooked them up for any serious use citing PC editing as laborious or needing too much mental real estate... this off topic meander appears to be because @Al Krow feels that I might need my hand held in when considering the C4 and any additional costs that I might have. I appreciate that concern and while his aversion to pc editing might factor into his pedal choices I don’t have any issue as I spend most of my at home playing time via the laptop and frequently use UAD plug ins or Logic to create sounds and patches. I just hope @GisserDand @Quatschmacher are able to tell him how to work his new SY1000 when he gets it 😀

It’s a great scheme. I went and got some 64 Ears moulds made a few years back and I’d rate these ones as better. If you can avail of the service then go get some it’s well worth it!

Is this the new thing now?
-
So is that a core and an sy1000 on the horizon?
-
There’s a boss and a c4 available locally so I’ll maybe give the boss a miss and check out the c4

Anything on the boss SY-1 get close?

I was meaning you’ll likely not be able to saunter into GuitarGuitar and try one.

It’s good to see Fender do something a little different for them irrespective of how deserving folk think the player is. I’ve never heard of the guy but the bass would be fun to try out and I’m looking forward to a more comprehensive demo online soon!

I’m not sure it’ll be available outside of Asia at least not initially unless there’s demand but of course I could be wrong.

Three pick up’s - front, middle and other. Nice!

I’m keen to try the Bigman in my ‘mod’ bass. I think the coil split and Series/parallel options make it a very versatile option in a single pick up banger like mine or as part of a two pick up bass. It was the Dan Lutz model where it first caught my ear. I’ve recently installed their Split 51’s in my Jazz and dig them!

Available on a fb gear page up here in Scotland if anyone was thinking of trying the big unit. I can contact the seller via fb if you’re interested and not on fb but I should add I don’t know them or have any connection to the seller
