  1. @Friskydingo check out the description of what the TH DI can offer in this thread linked below. It might help decide if a pedal based version has a few more options for what you need. I’ve not used the head version but I do like the pedal for the extra bit of color it can add to my amp or at amp shared gigs. I normally keep the AGS mode engaged and have it balanced volume wise to sit equall(ish) to the clean or just leave it on as the basic always on sound (AGS Engaged) when I’m wanting a bit more edge to the basic tone. It also works as a great clean preamp if that’s needed too - just be aware of the volume boost as it not ideal as a stomp box type effect to switch between AGS off and on. I think it been designed to be used as a clean pre or a ‘amp-like pre’ but not both on the same song!
  2. I’d genuinely have bought this already if I were after a 5 string- no qualms over the price, build quality or the seller! GLWTS fella!
  3. Ha looks like you bought it from Ed Friedland 😀
  4. Worth getting one in any colour!
  5. Of course ...which one though? And what about the squealing, over driven j bass sound
  6. This often comes up in threads with people saying the band noticed a tone or a sound but it’s often not clear if that was a good thing or a bad thing. Sometimes different is just different but when a whole band looks up that can be as much consternation as a confirmation that it works.
  7. Even if were noticeable I think most of us could excuse a slight different in active/passive sound over active sound/no sound
  8. I think a passive option should always be available on an active bass but I suppose on a Signature model the big name players usually have a tech to concern themselves with battery changes!
  9. haha I thought the same. Be a great bass for my country gig everything from Tic Tac to fat P!
  10. 😂 😂😂
  11. @Al Krow What was different about your set up for this gig? Were your volume levels different for this gig over and above a regular pub gig? Did you have pa support or a sound guy? Same cab as usual? Let the hive mind help problem solve!
  12. Some of the earlier Sandbergs especially the TSBS model looks great in that postbox yellow and if I were hunting for a jazz that would be in my top 3. But again if you’re after a five string only it changes your options somewhat
  13. There’s the BB604 which you could have a tech do a number on the eq/electronics to render it passive or switchable but it’s 4 string. One near me for not very much money. Basically a budget NE with that NE-1 type mid eq feature.
  14. Do you currently integrate and use midi with your existing midi capable pedals?
  15. I’d agree time spent looking on google is about the same time asking a question on a forum with a more immediate answer. If you’re into an item and want more info there’s likely a review on yt or a written review. If after the initial search you need to be told what you want to hear contact the seller and suffer the hyperbole 😀
  16. Was it @Al Krow again?
  17. I can sense my next for sale advert
  18. How much does your jazz bass weight...and is it a four string with two pick ups? Hi yeah its 4.8kg but now you've asked I've noticed it's a 5 string musicman with a humbucker. Still interested?
  19. They had two just delivered a few hours before I got there - purple and the turquoise flake They had quite a few dingwall's in stock NG's and such but maybe just not updated their site.
  20. I'd be tempted to pick up a D Bird now before the revised model ships. GuitarGuitar now stock them - played one a few weeks ago in Glasgow! Sounded and felt great!
  21. I had a three way once... oh wait wrong forum!
  22. One can’t deny the influence of Fender and Gibson. Yamaha designs aren’t that far removed from their counterparts and clearly they have been influenced by these companies, their SG guitars even have the same name as the Gibson inspired design. What have Dingwall been getting away with for so long? I’m baffled by this statement as Dingwall aren’t famous for the D Birds and have been innovating for many many years and pay for their use of the fan fret and credit the designer.
  23. Crowdfund gas?
