  1. its saying video unavailable - might not be fully uploaded yet? Have you just posted it this morning?
  2. Parallel mixing and setting the crossover should retain low end with any effect chain on the stomp. It’s all how you set the signal path so low end loss with dirt or any effect becomes a non issue once one figures this out.
  3. If the stomp doesn’t have a synth engine is it fair to compare it to pedal which does? Comparing delay or drive makes sense but if an effect isn’t listed in the stomps modeling or effects list then it can’t really be criticised. It’s like saying a zoom has built in drum loops so it wins? Just an observation.
  4. Thanks man! It is pretty tasty and you’re always welcome to try it again any time.
  5. I live in Edinburgh and while this sort of gig might be great for a local it’s still a royal p-iss take considering the cost of admission. In theory none of the military bands are getting paid but as civilians there should be remuneration as they wouldn’t be on the pay role or recruit your band internally for active or retired personnel.
  6. How was the box park gig? I recall you saying it was a ‘big space’!
  7. Looking forward to the clips. Have you been go pro’ing gigs? Our singer has just bought one and we have a few track done
  8. I’m possibly wrong but on a two pick up bass with both pick ups on you’ll get that mid scoop be they a JJ, PJ or even two MM style pick ups. That’s been my experience over the years. I’m sure there’s some ‘science’ behind it!
  9. @Al Krow Good on you for getting it out into the wild. I’d be up for some clips when you have them. These cabs always intrigued me anything with a dedicated mid driver seems like a useful addition regardless of the low end handling! Do you think the scooped nature of the pj was having an impact on hearing the mids with the bareface?
  10. The guy from Little Dragon uses something similar live - not sure which brand of bass it is. You'll see him use it from about 9:30 on this video but if you don't know who Little Dragon are (you're welcome) just enjoy the whole thing.
  11. @LukeFRC I'm not a massive 'Ampeg sound' fan but I recall playing along to Celebrity Skin with a stomp (with some tweaks) on the basic Ampeg sound and it nailed it! Now can I employ it on my gigs? Doubtful but was it immensely gratifying to jam along with the track? Yes! The same can be said for some funk tracks. It's not a dead on synth but the Stomp can cop some tones which are 70% good enough for a live audience who might struggle to pick a bass guitar out of a police line up
  12. it isn't
  13. Yes I'm not disputing your ability to purchase a high end bass. Who am I to question what people spend their money on.
  14. Well prior to ownership I mean - we all have to take a punt on new gear irrespective of opinions
  15. Amended
  16. Is that the consensus and two of which you have yet to own or play....
  17. I'm sure various filters and such could do a good impression of some of these aforementioned tunes. A Red Ripper is available locally which does look interesting but not sure it'll do more than my current cheapie fuzz. I'll defo check out some audio and wrangle a demo if possible. I have stumbled upon a good octave up Royal Blood type thing when trying to do a 90's hiphop demo for the pub band on Logic as a kinda fun mash up for our NYE gig later in the year. At this stage it's just a band only demo but if I expand the pedal board beyond Logic I'll be happy to offer up audio
  18. I listed at least 4 different generations of funk to choose from.
  19. It appears you don't know what I was referring to
  20. What synth sound would you like them to cop? A few suggestions of a song or tone would be useful.
  21. So not one of yours then A good video though - kudos to that man
