1. I have a MIM jazz deluxe and I love it. Had to change the bridge though that was awful. I put on a Gotoh 201 as it was half the price of a Badass II and easier to get hold of. Pick ups are good, I don't often dial in tones but when I've had a play around while practising I like the mid boost for growl. Used it in quite a few differnt types of bands and sounded good in all situations so far. I would say you need to try as many as possible though as the shop I got it from said they aren't all good and I guess it depends on your expectations and what you are previouly used to; I love it but I went from my old beat up BC Rich Warlock and a 80s Washburn and now I can't put it down, but it might be a bit of a step down if you have used some high end bases. Oh and I love the colour of mine too vintage white/red pickguard Does that help, probably not, but when I was looking to buy mine I found the comments here really useful.
  2. I'm Interested in the bottom feeder pending selling off some old studio equipment at the moment; so if that goes okay and you still have it I'll be in contact. Crikey that sounds vague doesn't it as you were
  3. I tried a jazz deluxe series MIA and MIM. Went for the MIM; felt much, much nicer was less than half the price and and came in the colour I wanted, vintage white with a red tort pickguard, only thing I've had to do (so far) is change the the bridge to a Gotoh 201. Don't the MIMs deluxe series have American pickups etc anyway?
  4.
I have done a lot with my MIM fretless. It started out like this: I then had the fingerboard epoxied by a Dutch luthier: Then came the classy part: I switched the pickguard to a black one. Technically, I've replaced the pickups with Fender Custom Shop 60's pickups, which I got quite cheap. They sound so incredibly awesome! Lastly, I've replaced the bridge with a Gotoh 201. The bass now looks like this: I couldn't be happier with it. Oh wait, I can. If it had a matching headstock
That's lovely, how did you find the action after fitting the bridge?
  5. Hi there, nice to see another Dorset resident here.
  6.
Thanks Danny .. I'm new here, should I send a pm to them? How can I find them on the forum? Many thanks for the help
I certainly am and have PM'd
  7. I've got a MIM jazz deluxe and put a Gotoh 201 bridge on it made huge difference made the tone brighter I was quite sceptical about doing it but on the orginal bridge the E string saddle grub screws kept working loose, so I had to do something and am very glad I went for it Picked one up for £30 well worth it, action is a bit high now though so needs a good set up, which I haven't got round to yet
  8.
I use a Pedal Train2 as seen in my recent pics... But unlike most, I'm looking to expand. Anyone have the larger Pedaltrain and looking to downsize? I feel a part-ex coming on :-)
I'm looking for a Pedal Train2 should you decide to sell, don't have anything to part-ex.
  9.
Small board gone. Rest still going including the very cheap pog!
Oh that is a good price on the POG whish I'd seen that a couple of weeks ago But could be interested in the pedalboard pending some measuring tonight, and have one perhaps stupid question, can you hide/tidy all the cables underneath like you can with the pedaltrains I can't seem to work that out from pictures I've seen?
  10. Bought an OC3 from him, excellent comms. super quick delivery, great price, even had a battery in it. Thank you Simon
  11. On tour a few years ago supporting Lowgold: We got a menu to choose our dinner from at King Tuts and fridge full of beer/water with our name on it. At the Wedgewood rooms no drink but a massive school dinner like feast. Liverpool Uni gave us sandwiches and a crate of Stella. Lowgold had a bottle of gin specified on their rider every night which we shared on a couple of nights. At the end of the tour they gave us any unopened bottles that had been saved. Nowadays lucky to get anything, except for one local venue that you get beer etc backstage.
  12.
Get in line Clarky. Funkadelic, The Beatles, Stump.
Stump that's a great call. "Big bottom swing..."
  13. CAN Black Sabbath Talking Heads - Fear of Music/Remain in Light era Wire particuarly doing stuff from Read and Burn 1, 2 and Send The Fall Gang of Four Crazy Horse too maybe, around Weld time. Venom !!! One of Prince's bands either The Revolution or just after up to and including the Lovesexy tour - though I couldn't actually cut it. Henry Cow but again wouldn't have the chops Just thought of a couple more though sort of the same Sleep and OM and I reckon being in Chrome Hoof would be fun too

    Pedal Power II
That's a good link, cheers. However, I have a couple of 9v pedals plus a Line6 tremelo pedal, so I'd quite like to feed 'em all.
Aha so you are in the same boat as me then.....a pain isn't it?

    Pedal Power II
It's a neat compatability table but it rules me out for the Diago...I have an Electro Harmonix Q-Tron, and I can't find my chuffing mains lead for it! Sorry, don't mean to hijack your thread, markl. It just might be we are in the same boat.
No worries on thread hi-jack all here to help each other. This might help on your Q-Tron problem though Effect Power Supplies

    Pedal Power II
Again, I will recomend the Diago (like many other, I'm very satisfied with it). Check out their compatability table here to see what all their different adaptors will and won't power. An expensive option I know but I'm glad I went for it.
I did check those out and liked the look of them nice and compact etc, but seems it won't do DHA (12V ) Polychorus (24V AC) or POD (9V AC, 2.5mm barrel plug). So thanks, but I don't think it's the answer, unless as I say, I'm missing something. It's really frustrating each time I think I've found one it turns out it won't do one or other of the pedals

    Pedal Power II

I was wondering if anyone of you kind people can help me? I did post this right at the end of another thread on power supplies, but it got buried so I thought I would start a (very specific) topic so please feel free to merge if needs be. I'm putting together a pedal board and not sure what power supply I can use, I have DHA VT2 fat guts bass, EHX Polychorus and a EHX echo#1 and Boss OC3 and it would be great to run my pod too (old school bass pod bean shaped). Now from what I can work out in my rubbish way I can't seem to find a power supply that will do them all.... Perhaps I should have been cleverer in my pedal choices but didn't really consider pedalboards as I picked them up; or I might be missing something obvious. So I throw myself open to your suggestions. Thanks

    Pedal power ...

First proper post here (after popping into the local to say hello) and hoping for some help. Putting together a pedal board and not sure what power supply I can use, I current have DHA VT2 fat guts bass, EHX Polychorus and a EHX echo#1 and looking at getting a EHX micro pog or maybe a Boss OC3 and a tuner and it would be great to run my pod too (old school bass pod bean shaped). Now in from what I can work out in my rubbish way the DHA needs 12V 500mA the Polychorus 24V and the Echo uses 9V, I can't seem to find a power supply that will do them all.... Perhaps I should have been cleverer in my pedal choices but didn't really consider peadlboards as I picked them up, or I might be missing something obvious, so I throw myself open to your suggestions. Thanks

Hi guys long time lurker, first time posting, found out lots very useful things here so thank you all for that. Got a MIM Jazz deluxe and a rather beat up BC Rich Warlock with a trem fitted , from the "old days" but I'm very attached to it for sentimental reasons.
