  1. Well that would make it sort of counterfeit for me. If I'd have a logo retrofitted I'd send it to Warwick, probably.
  2. Honestly considering e-mailing Warwick to see if they'll sell me a new neck with the Sadowsky logo on it. I like my 1st gen very very very much but man. That logo.
  3. That's the proprietary brand of Music Store Köln (like Harley Benton for Thomann), pretty cool stuff indeed. Very much bang for buck. I bet those SD pickups are a big, big upgrade.

    Up to seven!
  5. I got this bass with the bridge cover screwed on and the original screws seem a teeny weeny bit longer than pickguard screws. I do use pickguard screws on my '71 Precision, though, and they work just fine. Well, it sounds very Acoustic-like. They have this very typical solid state growl to them, very middy. They immediately give you that Jaco feel with a fretless, or that JPJ growl with a fretted Jazz. I really like it, although I'm planning on selling it as it is very heavy. Lucky for me this is a bass from 2011
  6. I've had over 50 basses in my life, from Dingwall to Mustang and I keep coming back to Jazz Basses. So, after selling my upright and my Dingwall, why not get another one? I found this beautiful Custom Shop '64 Limited Edition Jazz in Germany. The seller was in NL yesterday so that was a perfect opportunity to pick it up. Lovely rosewood fretboard, Abigail Ybarra pickups, shoreline gold finish. Very happy with Jazz number seven in my collection.
  7. I really like that but why oh why oh why PJ pickups? I think a design like this would greatly improve with nice looking single coils or humbuckers, like e.g. Duesenberg or Serek.
  8. Wish me luck on a possible bass acquisition next Tuesday. Can't wait.

Thank you for wishing me luck with my possible bass acquisition today.

  9. Hi guys, I got offered a CS '64 Jazz in shoreline gold, matching headstock, apparently it carries Ybarra pickups? Does anyone know about these basses and how good they are?
  10. Haha yes! Except this bass used to be fretted
  11. Today, something special happened. Last week I got a call from the editor-in-chief of the Dutch bass magazine, if I wanted to check a radio knob Stingray. Well, of course I did. So today I met the guy representing the owner to check out the bass. Such a special instrument. What a bass. https://i.imgur.com/52OhpZJ.mp4
  12. I think it's a modded Ampeg as well, check out the terrible neck pickup routing in the pickguard though. Very sloppy work.
  13. So someone stole two pairs of my favourite Nike Air Max today. Such a dumb theft, but so annoying. Give me back my shoes.

Thats just pure stinky poo :(

  14. Yesterday's theme was blue:
  15. Oh my that is absolutely perfect. In the meantime I'm having a fretless neck built for my Sterling Ray34. I bought it with a Status graphite neck but I wanted a slimmer neck, and a wood neck. So I contacted a befriended luthier here in the Netherlands and he's building a flame maple neck for me, with an unlined fretless ebony board. Can't wait!
  16. As if being a member of Basschat isn't already bad enough
  17. How much are they asking?
  18. Ah yes forgot BBcode for images doesn't work here :)
  19. How could I have missed this topic? Here's the 118 combo I bought for €50at a thrift shop here in Amsterdam. It's currently getting recapped. It's insanely heavy but I like it A LOT.
  20. The Jazz has the pickup cover on it (but no bridge cover), I've since removed the pickup cover on the P. I *love* playing with the pickup cover, my Lakland also carries it:
  21. Also because Norm has an example of every single guitar ever built.
  22. This week:
  23. I actually quite like it but if it does the same sneaky trick as the Forty-Eight it's probably a Precision pickup in a humbucker cover.
  24. I certainly know what it's not
  25. I use my Combustion in my fusion group: Works perfectly.
