  1. Tell them they can hire your pa at a reasonable going rate, any breakage/loss is covered by them, not the kitty. Sit back on your hols and have a few drinks on them for doing not much yourself.
  2. I played guitar in my first band..the bass player and I began as mates but it soon deteriorated as he was a f@@@ing nutter. Ended with him breaking the headstock off his Precision bass on my bonce mid gig. As was the norm in a 70s punk band it all kicked off and the local town hall got trashed. Thats when I knew it was safest to play a bigger instrument so I bought a double bass.. nobodies tried it on since .
  3. He was a forum member on the old site, Anyone know how to contact him?
  4. Now I wish that I could get there on Saturday... I really want to try one of those Ear Trumpet mics on my Kay..
  5. Up for grabs , my Gen3 Big Baby II with steel grille. There are no dings or dents and its always been stored at home. Selling due to upgrade, located in Manchester, happy to meet or pack for courrier collection, pm me to discuss. Theres some slight paint fading which Ive tried to show in the photo's. I understand you can get touch up paint from Barefaced so maybe this is common?
  6. Click on my username.. youl see an envelope dierctly underneath on the next screen ..click that....
  7. Stating the obvious here ... real guts.. Just the right amount of dead.
  8. Not so much an amp but a built in effect. I was given a Roland Bass Cube 100 with a built in echo/reverb effect. Its a 1 knob affair so goes from long echo repeats right round to massive reverb at the other end of the control. The echo sounds better than all the outboard pedals Ive ever bought including Keeley, Boss , MXR.
  9. Approx 10% increase.Thats a big hike in one go but I dont know how long since the last one...
  10. Ive just got one of these... my gigs are a mixture of upright bass and bass guitar, so 2 channels is perfect... at first I was worried that the input gain seemed on the quiet side but after comparing it to my Promethean I dont think it is. Im hoping it will be loud enough with a Bug Baby II cab on its own but havent had chance to gig it yet. The Lwa1000 does sound very natural with upright but it definetly needs a preamp , whereas the Promethean can get away without one.
  11. Saw a documentry about Alma Deutcher, a 12 year old girl.. musical talent from a different planet. Shes obvously disfuncional in some way but you cant help but be impressed.
  12. Love my Magnum bass.. its Wobble on a strap.
