1. I'd love to, but the wife would kill me if I bought a 66 P

obbm's feedback

Thanks Dave, they arrived this morning, excellent service despite my best efforts to cack up the order!
4. Biggest mistake I ever made was selling my 50w fender bassman and trace elliot rigs after the band imploding. Now I'm looking at spending a lot of money to replace them. I said I wasn't going to gig again and a few years down the line the new band is almost ready to go.
5. going to watch it now http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00xl...Bad_Reputation/
6. Strings of Hitchin Good people there, Keith runs the shop and is top bloke.
7. It's a Korean Samick made in 1989, exactly the same as mine. Out of all the basses I've had over the years this is the only one I've kept.
8.
I don't really like low B string' sound in 'upper register' - notes are too boomy/mushy, and that's something to do with strings gauge I think.
Yeah I noticed that today, no idea what the strings were, round wound (normally use flat or ground wounds). I thought it was me, probably was to be fair
9. Thanks for the replies, I'm going to go with B-E-A-D-G as playing through some of the stuff on a borrowed 5 string jazz it seems to fit. M:)
10. Hi, I've been thinking about a 5 string for a while now, pretty sure it's going to be a Precision American standard. But what I'm struggling with is tuning, B-E-A-D-G or E-A-D-G-C with a hipshot for drop D? I know this is subjective but I was curious as to what you lot do? Cheers, M
11. Thank god that sold, I've just had an crisis looking at that
12. The bass was by Andy Pyle, for a session fee. I don't know what he was using then, but he pretty much sticks to '66ish P's now. Next time I see him I'll ask.
13. He is/was on my subscription list. This is the video that I first saw http://www.youtube.com/user/zodiakironfist...129/uR05FbkHAg0 RIP
14. I've had quite a basses over the years, but the only one I kept is my '89 Samick P. granted I had the neck reduced to a J size. I never thought of getting rid of it because it was cheap, but after all this time it's one of the best playing and sounding basses I've owned. TBH it's probably a plywood monster, but damn it sounds good
15. Hi, I just asked Mrs Smashie and the writing is not Chinese it's Korean, however the Mrs is Chinese and can't read Korean. Cheers, Mark
16.
The 1000 will be mental!
I don't give a s**t about the 1000, the 500 has got me about ready to sell my wife. Mark

18. Lights Out - Johnny Winter (it may have been done by somebody else but I can't it)
19. Hah, found the camera, sods law says that the second I take the picture the trim falls off the bottom of the grill.
20. It has flashing lights so I want it, wonder if they do one in chrome? Gotta love flashy kit M
21. I've still got a B100 combo, when I find the camera I'll take some pics. Mines a bit different it's a bit of a prototype/hybrid with no serial number. It's one of the best sounding combos I've ever played through, unfortunatly it's no longer loud enough for most venues but I still use it if I'm DI'd to the PA. Cheers, Mark

Ameson?

Hi, Whilst looking up the address for MAJ Electronic to get my H|H B100 sorted out (crackly EQ) I noticed on their site that they are making amps and cabs under the Ameson brand. Has anybody come across these and are they any good? The bass amp seems to be pretty much a development of the B100 amp. Cheer, Mark
23.
Spray the whole thing with yellow Hammerite and there you are - one seriously annoyed lead guitarist.
Love it! Mark
24. I came across this on lifehacker seemed like a nifty solution DIY IKEA Pedalboard Cheers, Mark
