1. I brought my Sandberg and Tacoma acoustic from them. Great place. Apparantly they're going to increase the bass range. Been in this morning and there's already a third more basses there than normal. Quite a nice 78 F Jazz there. MB1 - You don't get shot at in Heald Green it's posh!!
2. So BeLow, well observed t'is a canadian canoe. And the large expanse in front of it is Loch Shiel. Bonnie Prince Charlie raised the standard against the english on the shores of Loch Shiel in 1745, which took the Scottish clans as far as Derby. A magical mystical loch, 1200metres deep, steeped in history and surrounded by majestic munroes. Sorry, getting carried away there!!
3. A fellow bassist was very friendly with me recently until they realised my name wasn't really Gloria!

Sandberg Review
purdy! are you sure you don't want to start a porn thread?
Can't deny it is a bit of a pimps bass!

Sandberg Review
Sorry, but I've seen some really badly built Sandbergs (problems with the frets).
I've only ever seen two Sandbergs and I own one. Both were spot on so I don't quite get the inconsistancy in quality control. In doing some research on Bass talk, the yanks absolutely rave about them. Read a number of threads and not yet found anything regarding any issues with the quality of build. Where as on Basschat there's been a few negatives? Couldn't resist adding a little picy of mine. Sandberg Review

No I just own one. I don't endorse for them either. Infact I'm bugger all to do with Sandberg. I just thought it was a good review that could benefit some people in their decision making.
7. Anyone considering a Sandberg? This may help with your decision making. http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=255467
8. Did I read somewhere that Zender played a Bass Collection at one time? As I said to you I've had a bass Collection but I'm an inbred Stopfordian? Should this man of obvious talent play such mediocre instruments!
9. So is the Zender story true? Infact I bet it was you who told me that story?
10. I've just played one of these with some flatwounds. Sounded great. Got my heart set on something else but I think this is real good value for money for anyone interested in an acoustic.
11. Went out his morning with my No 1 priority being the purchase of a lovely new acoustic bass. Came back with a new set of flatwound strings! I can only liken it to being 21, going clubbing on a Saturday night and not pulling!
12. Think the lights were on but there's........................ Sound Control don't have 4 string acoustics in stock. At the moment it's between Johnny Roadhouse, special order only or Music Ground. Their higher end bass, which they stock, is a Breedlove ABJ250. I've asked for comments on another thread on Basschat but I don't think they're too well known over here. Have posted a thread on Bass Talk and Breedlove have taken a bit of a knock. I thought it would be easier to get a quality acoustic bass in England's second city.
13. Found a review from bassplayer magazine that's not that favourable towards the Breedlove Tacoma Thunderchief gets a great write up but I'll be lucky to find one to play before I commit to buying. http://www.bassplayer.com/article/breedlov...m4/Aug-07/30542
14. I've done some whitewater on the Dee at Llangollen. I'm preety sure you couldn't open canoe all the way although it would be fun at the Wirral side with the tides! Lakes are good. Consiton and Ullswater are both great for open canoe. Somebody gonna tell us off for not talking bass!!
15.
Nice Avatar Gloria, I've a few shots of the bow of a sea kayak like that Do you think you'll regret p/ex the BC?
Hi GreeneKing Avatar was taken with a throwaway camera! It's on Loch Shiel, west of Fort William in Scotland. The most beautiful Loch/Lake I've ever canoed. Doing the Caladonian Canal in April so that opinion may change. To cut a long story short I've got both the BC and my Sandberg with me right now. Sandberg wins hands down but it did cost me about 4 times as much as the BC so it should!
16. I had an original SGC Nanyo SB310 serious which I purchased sometime in the nineties. Japanese made with SGC pups and Gotoh fixings. Just part ex'd for Sanburg JJ. Learnt everything I know from it and served me well. Great for slap and as light as a feather. Great learner bass for the price
17. Been struggling to find a retailer that sells descent acoustic basses in my area. Music Ground in Manchester have a Breedlove ABJ250 that they recommend. Apparantly Stuart Zender has been in Ground Control, played one for 15 minutes and brought it! Does anyone have one, played one who can give me their opinion? I'm planning on going in tomorrow to potentially buy but it would help me to get some good advise.
18. Help, I'm looking for a good quality acoustic bass: Martin, Tacoma etc. I want to try before I buy and I don't want to have to travel anymore than about 50 miles. Can anyone suggest somewhere manchester/North West where I can try a top end ACB and possibly trade in my old ACB.
19. A combination of a lack of time and a deep hatred of long journeys in my crap motor prevents me from popping over to visit your lovely city, although I'll get there one day as the Missus loves Bath. Thanks
20. I too am interested. Bristol to Manchester?
21. Thanks for the info and advice. What would really help is to find somewhere in the north West that sells some of the fore- mentioned acoustic basses. Can't think of anywhere in Manchester. Johnny Roadhouse sells some but if I remember it's all lower end stuff. Anyone know of anywhere in the North that has a good, high end, range that I can sample before commiting?

24. Not everybody likes Sandberg's but I think mine's a beautifully crafted instrument. And I'm no endorsee. Apologies for the crap picture but right now I can't be bothered to switch on the macro and take an arty one.
