1. I'd just use the 1X15 for gigging which isn't that frequent. I'm not technically minded enough to know why the 2 x1x12s are so much more popular. Is it more about logistics than anything else?
2. Has anyone got or had this set up? would it work? I'm aware that a 1X12 extension is more popular.
3. Could I ask how long have you had the amp and did you get it from new?
4. OK, I'm interested. Deliver to Stockport??
5. I'm interested in trading my Fender Rumble 100 1X15 for a 30 watt guitar combo of comparible price. Fender, Roland etc.
6. As Gladys Knight said: We look back and think: The winters were warmer (true) The grass was greener (but not as strong as it is now) The skies were bluer (After one of those funny pills) And smiles were bright (definatly after one of those funny pills) Memories of the Hac eh Although my best nights were in South on King Street. Funky man!

Loads of potential, like it
8.
Hi Graeme, The socket on the Boss had a loose solder joint so I've managed to fix it and it works well now. I've got the KRK's from GAK so they are brand spanking new Cheers Jack
Pleased it's all working 100% now. I used the money you paid me for the Boss to part fund the KRK's.
9.
Right, I bit the bullet and ordered a pair of KRK RP6 G2, they've arrived today and I yet have to set them up properly but so far I have played some music through it an my god how different does it sound to what I was actually hearing previously. They are crystal clear and are so unforgiving on the little bits and it amazes me how much difference does a set of ''dedicated'' speakers make.
Hi Jack I sold you the BR900, I hope it's met all your expectations. Coincidentally I've just brought the same KRKs. I think they sound great but I've never heard the Adams or Genelecs etc so I've never gauged the KRKs against the higher end monitors. How did you link the BR to the KRKs as the phonos out didn't work? Did you get the KRK 6s from new? I got mine from Dawsons as they were as cheap as the net without the hassle of delivery and extra delivery charge. Think I paid about £318 for mine.
10. Jack brought my Boss BR900 off me. Great communications and very easy to do business with
11. I had the BR900 until I went PC. Great machine I'd be suprised to hear of any bad reviews
12.
I'd take the mixer out of the chain and go straight from the AR133 to the edirol. You have too many gain stages in there.
I've got two jack/XLR inserts on the interface so could still experiment with both DI and mic'd bass amp on seperate channels. Pre amps in the mixer are better for mic'd acoustic guitar/vocal than the interface so it'll remain part of my set up for now. So many options, so little time! Ta
13.
are you micing or DI'ing? Tell me what your exact chain is. FWIW the compressor you mention is at the lower end of the spectrum rather than the upper end. How much are you compressing with it?
Fair point about the compressor. I was meaning from the range of stomp really. So far my best sounding set up is just DIing. My Sandberg to - AR-133 to Mackie 1202VLZ pro mixer (EQ all at 12:00) to Edirol FA66 interface to Cubase Essentail 5. Tweaking compression and EQ in Essential 5 . My levels are set OK with no clipping. I did try my compulater before the AR133 in the chain but it sounded crap. I've experimented with the above set up but also used the link out of the AR 133 to my amp. My amp isn't too good, Fender Rumble 100 1X15. There may lie the problem, although I do think it sounds OK. I then mic'd the amp ( done some research on mic positioning)with an SM57 put it into the Mackie mixer, interface, Cubase and recorded onto a seperate channel. I couldn't get a sound I was happy with from thr two channels. Too muddy. I may not have given this enough experimenting time yet but I'm interested to know if anyone thinks I can improve my set up or am i making any glaring mistakes.
14.
the key to good recording is capturing good quality going in. That starts at your own fingers. Every bit of the chain is important and every bit either adds or takes away from the final product. So you need: a good player, a good quality instrument, good strings, and then either a good bass amp, speakers and well position appropriate mic in a good room going into a good/appropriate preamp or alternatively a good quality DI going into a good preamp. All of this needs to go through a good quality a/d converter. You are also likely to need a compressor on their somewhere (a decent software plugin will hold down the dynamics but a good hardware one will be more musical). Now don't get me wrong here. I'm not saying it's not possible to get an adequate bass recording without that. I'm just explaining how every part of your signal chain that is lacking will take a few percent away from the product. Now if I was on a low budget and wanted to get the best quality bass I could I'd probably buy a BSA ar133 or similar DI, unplug the behringer and go directly into my audio interface/converter. (a good rule of thumb is the shorter you can make the signal path the less degraded the signal becomes. Now it isn't clear what your exact signal chain is. If you can list it here that would be useful. Hope this helps.
Where in the chain would the hardware compressor go? I've got pretty much the exact set up you've suggested but even though I've invested in a good compressor, a Demeter Compulator, it still seems to sap the tone from my bass. I've had more success to date using a software plug in for compression. I put the DC first in the chain. I've also had limited success in combining DI and mic'ing into two seperate channels. Maybe a phasing issue?
15.
just done a bit o googling the thunderchief ain't my bag at all had an acoustic not much use tbh, like the hagstrom though maybae work out a part x or something
Haven't got much in the way of cash at the moment but I do have a: Demeter Compulater - Top end transparant compresser Roland bass Cube 30w Fender Rumble 1X15" 100W Again, all in good condition. spent too much money on gear recently finishing my home studio off but I do have a little too consider as part ex. Junkyard blues

Organic, like it. What's the mike?
18. Everythings there, good vocals and I like the song. You really need splash some cash and get into a studio. it'll sort your guitar and bass sound out. Guitarist needs to work on that solo bit more as well. Otherwise I think it's promising.

Thanks Lowdown. There's some more cutting, glueing, fixing to do but it gives you an idea. I've set the studio up from advice and info, mostly from Basschat so I owe a lot of thanks to the forum for helping me. As far as the layout and set up of the room is concerned I'm open to alternative suggestions, critique etc as I'm far from being expert at this stuff. The panels on the wall are easy to make. There's loads on You Tube about making them. They work out approx £25-£30 a trap, 4'x2' .I may have made a mistake by not considering the material too much. Muslin, very breathable type stuff is the best to use but I went for aesthetics. I'm planning to use this room as my escape for many years to come so I wanted it to look nice, nice to my taste anyway.
