1.
My Ibanez EDB has a really fast, slim neck too.. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/198472-fs-ibanez-edb600-jazz-cw-hardcase-near-mint-price-drop/page__fromsearch__1 Was that subtle enough?
2. Oh hell, you said the t word
 3. I always seem to miss out on these
 4.
Indulge me, how exactly has that statement been proven incorrect?? It is an interesting debate because the Beatles were such an important cultural phenomenon....
They may have been a cultural phenomenon, but probably more part of a cultural phenomenon. But that aside, why do so many other artists cite them as an influence if they weren't a musical phenomenon? Why not the Stones, Who or the Kinks?
 5.
The problem with threads like this is I tend to get increasingly pissed (wrongly so I might add!) when it is suggested that the band weren't musically significant or influential. It's just that you can't really argue with historical fact and actual proof here, it far outweighs the suppositions. What I actually think it boils down to for most people in this case is a feeling of annoyance over how much the Beatles are lauded and a probable dislike of their music. Both those things I can understand very well. But misinformation gets tossed around and it's tough to try and step over it all.
It is an oddity that people cannot detach disliking something from how it has influenced many others and appreciate that fact. Throwing in terms like 'crap','overrated etc misses the point that this band were massively influential and more so than any other band. I'm not a big Beatles fan, but the artists I listen to are on record as being big fans.
 6.
Are you just guessing that?
Yes. And I like to write posts that I feel need this fella Not so much this chap but I'll put him in anyway.
 7.
Depends what state of dryness. Fresh stuff is real slick. Mid life is a bit tacky. Bone dry stuff gives you that polished dance floor kind slickness.
Thank you, I can sleep easy tonight knowing that
 8.
I would have thought that Mozart has been listened to by as many people as the Beatles.
Tut, tut, you're guessing, never pays to guess. Although I do hear that Mozart is massively influential in both the reggae and the roots/americana scenes
 9.
I got a few Jazzes and all a little different. The narrowest across the nut is a '71, the shallowest thro the section is '66, the smallest all round is a 1982 Fullerton '62 re-ish that all round is the next smallest thing to sliver of... nothing; dead fast, and slicker than snot on a door handle.
What if the snot had been there for a few days and dried out?
 10. Ibanez SR range. Stupidly skinny, like a matchstick.
 11. Read Nick Mason's biog of the Floyd. It's probably a lot to do with maybe not helping Syd Barrett and the way they sort of dumped him from the band, given that Syd gave them their foothold to success.
 12.
Beatles tunes and jazz musicians have resulted in some shockingly bad jazz A lot of Beatles tunes on jazz albums are commercial decisions made by misguided producers. I don't want to generalise but (will) most examples of jazz plus Beatles tunes are less than the sum of their parts.
All of which is not particularly pertinent to how the discussion has gone on. The Beatles are cited as a major influence on music, if they weren't why would Jazz musicians bother covering a band's material whose impact was negligible? If was just to shift 'units' then it would demonstrate the weakness of the genre.
 13. Simply, their influence was more extensive and far reaching than any other recording artists. People may not like it, may not hear it, but the number of other artists who cite the Beatles as a major influence is out there.
 14.
I was playing the White Album only yesterday, in my car!
Yesterday wasn't on the White Album and nor was the other one
 15.

Please stop playing with your food. Really, tut, tut.
 16. The big benefit of Bill's Jack designs are that if you're budget conscious then he has designed the cabs to take a slightly cheaper driver as well.
 17. I never play the same thing twice and just play what pops into my head at the time, it'll different the next time and the time after that. All depends on what the rest of the band are doing, although I tend to ignore the vocalist completely
 18. I do like Rourke's playing. I like Johnny Marr's playing. Not keen on the warbler though
 19.
That's the Apple version?
I better delete my post before I get an email about DRM or patent infringement
 20.
I'm so glad you posted this, I've been sorely tempted since yesterday! Edit: I would also have accepted 'eye-ther'.
What about just, i-ther?
 21.
Still waiting here for results of the "man on crate" testing ...........
Haven't got round to it yet, the crate is still in the boot of the car. It seems to have been commandeered by someone who's storing shopping bags in it. Sorry.
 22. Wet wipes and that alcohol based hand wash stuff. If you're single, condoms. You may be the bass player, but you never know.
 23.
How does one change ones member name, anyway? I want to be called 'Lord Awesome'.
Contact an admin
 24.
A serious one this time. If you don't like nasty fast technical metal, make sure your speakers aren't turned up too high before you press play The bassist in this band is an incredible fretless 6 string player. His feel and tone are to die for, as is the bass solo near the end. Nom!
I was enjoying that, right up to the point where the singer started to try and get rid of the fur ball stuck in his throat.
 25.
It's pronounced /kənt/
Well done, all the diods down one side have decided to pack up now
