Epiphone Rivoli reissue from 1997 in excellent condition, with hard case. Fitted with Pyramid Gold flats and plays brilliantly. The original Mudbucker has been rewound by Armstrong Pickups and is a vast improvement; more clarity and punch. The pots, output jack and wiring have been upgraded (original pots and jack included). The choke button has been disconnected, and the coil & wiring removed (included in sale). I have a schematic so it can easily be put back to stock, but it sounds significantly better as it is. Also included is a Mod Bar for when using strings with silks at the ball end. Reluctant sale, but needs must. I’d like to get £900 for this. Possibly interested in a part exchange for an electric guitar. Collection much preferred from Beccles, Suffolk. I have a box so can ship.

Gig bags - SOLD

I have an Epiphone Rivoli as my main gigging bass and love it. The Guild acoustic is just for picking up around the house or taking places I don't want to use the Rivoli, like fields etc.

I came from guitars too, which is why I think I have a soft spot for an acoustic bass. Plus I play with a pick so I think that helps get a bit more volume from them. It's not the best example, but I have a video of my Fender at an acoustic jam (I'm pretty sure the bass had TI flats fitted).

I recently picked up a Guild B-240E after being without an acoustic bass for a while. I used to have a Fender BG-32 that I used for acoustic jams/open mics. I like having something in the living room to play on. The Guild is fitted with TI flats so it feels similar to my gigging bass. I think it’s ace and pick it up every day.

Raising a Rivoli pickup MODS PLEASE MOVE TO REPAIRS & TECHNICAL

Yes, it’s that gap which I’m not too sure on. I wish you could get some kind of mudbucker spacer like you can dogear P90s. -

Just realised I’ve put this in the wrong place. Could a mod please move it? -
Raising a Rivoli pickup MODS PLEASE MOVE TO REPAIRS & TECHNICAL
kristo replied to kristo's topic in Bass Guitars
I’ve raised them quite a bit, but the pickups around 7mm from the strings. -
I’m loving my Rivoli Bass, but I’d like to try and get the pickup a little closer to the strings. Has anyone done this successfully? I’m thinking I could just take out the four screws holding it in, remove the cover plate, and put some kind of dense foam under the pickup to raise it up. I might need longer screws to refit, but would that work? Cheers.

That is the coolest looking bass I have ever seen!

Hello Larry. I did pretty much as described here. Just be careful and take your time. I'm severely unpractical, so if I could do it I'd be confident anyone could.

Absolutely outstanding Eastman T64/v for sale. Purchased with the intention of it being a 'lifer', but Covid seems to have other ideas. Only selling as finances are dire and needs must. Excellent condition, being pretty much how it came from the factory. Lightly relic'd which looks amazing. Lollar pickups that sound beautiful. Complete with case and certificate. A very reluctant sale and it will be missed. £1,100 collected from north Suffolk. I have a box so can pack up for a courier.

I had intended to try a K & K Pure Archtop in one of the Century’s I had, but never got around to it as was happy with the Armstrong. That might work better....

I’ve had three of these basses and all the piezo pickups were bad. I contacted Aaron at Kent Armstrong pickups and he made a floating pickup for me. It massively improved the plugged in tone. You can see it here:

Up for sale is my Tuscany Spider resonator bass. This has been well looked after so is in great condition. Fitted with Rotosound Swing Bass roundwound strings which give a lovely warm, full tone through the lipstick pickup. Also sounds great unplugged, and sits nicely with an acoustic guitar, especially when using a plectrum. I’ve also fitted TI Jazz Flat strings in the past which sound awesome plugged it. Collection from Beccles, Suffolk. Or I could potentially meet somewhere for fuel costs. I have a box so shipping is also a possibility. £300.
