  1. I'm looking to swap/part-exchange my Gretsch New Yorker for an electric guitar. It's a lovely guitar in great condition, fitted with Martin Monel 11-52 strings and with an action of 2mm at the 12th fret. It plays really well and sounds great. I have lighter strings on it as a wrist injury means I struggle with heavier. That's the reason I'd prefer an electric, to go even lighter on the strings. I have a JJB Prestige 220 transducer pickup (basically a K & K Pure Archtop) that I was going to have fitted, but have never got around to. I will include that along with a hardcase. Swap wise, I'd prefer something traditional (nothing too modern or pointy). The Gretsch would be around £350 in trade value, and I'm happy to add a bit of cash. Please let me know if you have anything and are interested. Cheers.
  2. I already had an Epiphone Rivoli hard case which fits it perfectly. I also wanted a gig bag and can recommend these: https://www.thomann.de/gb/rockbag_starline_hollowbody_e_bass_bag.htm
  3. Just incase it helps anyone in the future, a tech found the fault to be a connection between the pre and power amp sections.
  4. Thanks for the help. I’ve gone through the advice and it seems the power amp is ok, as a VT bass pedal into the effects return works. The effects out into another amp gives nothing. It seems to be the preamp. I’ll get some compressed air and spray into the input jack incase there’s an issue there. If not I’ll need someone to take it apart I guess. 😬
  5. My Tecamp 112 combo has a problem. I turned it on today, and although there is power, there is no output. With the gain and master volume cranked there’s a very week signal. I’ve hoovered the jacks but that’s about as far as my technical abilities go. I have a gig next week so am a bit worried. Any advice would be appreciated.
  6. It does have an arched front and back. It’s also extremely light which is a plus for me. I’m pretty smitten, being a fan of hollow basses and P pickups. I went for the Walnut which is darker than expected in the flesh. I might save for a cherry too as I’m that into them (and like a backup). Fitted with TI flats it does everything I need.
  7. Sorry, my bad.
  8. Up for sale is my Tuscany Spider resonator bass. This has been well looked after so is in great condition. Fitted with Status Half Wound 45-105 strings which give a lovely warm, full tone through the lipstick pickup. Also sounds great unplugged, and sits nicely with an acoustic guitar when using a plectrum. I’ll also include some D’addario 45-105 round wounds which give a bit more volume acoustically. A great bass to leave in the leaving room to noodle on whilst watching tv. Also prefect for acoustic bands. It’s 30” scale and intonates great up the neck. Collection from Beccles, Suffolk. Or I have a box so shipping is also ok. £350

  10. Possibly interested in a part exchange with an electric guitar.
  11. I'll be Derby way in a few weeks if that helps anyone with collection.
  12. Brilliant archtop guitar in great condition. These guitars project really well and can be very loud. Fitted with Martin Retro 11-52 Monel strings, and set up with an action at the 12th fret of 2.5mm on the bass side and 2mm on the treble. Comes with Loar case. I have a box so can post.

  13. I love Epiphone basses. My two Rivolis (both in the Classifieds as one needs to go 😩😞 My previously owned archtop basses: I’ve also had an EB0 in the past which was great fun.
  14. Up for sale is my sunburst 1997 Epiphone Rivoli Reissue bass. A great playing and sounding bass in lovely condition. It has a few light scratches, some tarnishing on the bridge, but nothing bad condition wise. Set up with La Bella 760FL flatwound strings for extra thump. A reluctant sale. Collection much preferred from Beccles, Suffolk. I do have a box so could pack up for a courier.
  15. Sold a pickup to Andy. Easy to deal with and highly recommended. Cheers.

  20. Out of interest, do function bands have spare PAs at gigs?
  21. I don’t think you can write something like that without elaborating......
