Is he any good as a frontman?

I'm very happy with the DOD FX64 Ice box I use. Got it on ebay for £22. It's not bass specific but works very well with one.
It wouldn't really matter too much with my guitar playing. But in reality I would play a particular song in exactly the same way. I'm sure I would attempt to play Mystery Train and Enter Sandman with the same 'feel' on both. They would struggle tonally to cope with their 'wrong' genre though. Hell it sounds like a fun thing to try though.
Thinking about it I would do a few dive bombs on Mystery Train with the RG and maybe some flat picking on Enter Sandman with the jazz box. So maybe you're partially right?
But raises a good point. Let's talk in terms of guitars. A big bodied jazzer through a nice warm vintage valve amp. And a RG through a Marshall Valvestate and loads of pedals. You would play both with the same feel?
It wouldn't really matter too much with my guitar playing.
All good salient points but I still need an answer! Does your bass/sound affect your feel? Apparently not. Apparently it's nothing to do with gear. So if I give you a P bass through an SVT you will play that with exactly the same feel as an MTD via an overdrive pedal through an EBS?
Should work

Rock playing is also funky. If you're having fun and getting carried away it probably comes across positively.

Look great on the back seat of a Nash Metropolitan.

Not feeling it :( Upcoming gig and no excitement

If you had a 'perfect' first gig what would you have to talk about or learn from? You can only rehearse so long. Rock n roll. -
Nothing like a bit of gig pressure to tighten a band up, ime.
+1 -
I seem to be fine with the music. Lyrics are the hard bit. They will also dictate the mood of the song so they've got to fit together. Just finding stuff to write about is giving me the hump at the moment.

Weekend update. 37 sheets of paper in bin. No new lyrics. A nice intro/outro/bridge thing sorted though. Plus maybe a verse to go with it. I'm finding themes for the lyrics hard at the moment. Once I get one I usually have little trouble bashing words out. I can't do 'angry with the world' songs. Because I'm not. I leave love songs to the other writer. He's better at them. I like 'story' songs and observational songs. I've obviously not been observing enough recently. Maybe I should have a crack at something with wizards and swords and stuff? I'll get me cape.

My charge sheet says I shouldn't like Cheap Trick. But I do. Fun band and I love that bass sound.

Chris Squire - Would he have been better as a reader?
Low End Bee replied to xilddx's topic in General Discussion
So this Chris Squire. Was he the bloke in Buggles then? -
Carry on regardless. Never stop a song no matter how bad the cock up. It's live. Laugh and treat it as a jazz solo. You want no mistakes? Buy a record.

Orange Bass Terror - It's here, FULL review and PIX
Low End Bee replied to Moos3h's topic in Amps & Cabs
They certainly have plenty of bass! I set mine out of 10. Volume - whatever I can get away with. Which is usually about 3, Bass - 5 (flat), Mid - 3, Treble - 6.5. Gain 5. Through a TC RS210 and RS112. Both with the horns off. Precision with a Thumper and rounds. Nice in your face, grindy bass sound. Winding the tone back gives a good dub sound too. -
"One of our three singer/guitarists" That's just asking for trouble.
I can't hear it but you and the bass look immensely cool which let's face it, it is half the battle!
I'm afraid the Youtube notation and theory filter has blocked the sound.

I heard he lost out on a cruise ship gig to Flea. -
So, do they have an actual purpose or are they just decorative?
They're Orgone Accumulators. Luckily I'm overflowing with orgone so don't need them.

I thought I'd resurrect this one seeing as we've been a trio for just over a year. I find band dynamics very interesting. I know realise that although we have no band leader we do have our seperate responsibilities that we are in charge of. Like cabinet posts I suppose. Flyers, getting gigs, writing lyrics, keeping the diary, negotiating, etc. all have one of us who does the lions share of that particular area. We know people outside the band see it as the singer/guitarists band. He is the front man after all and we're comfortable with that now and he certainly doesn't lord it at all. It's very interesting that since we got rid of the sensitive bloke with the ego we can write 10 times faster and also be much more ruthless on ditching stuff that's not working or isn't up to standard. It'd be fascinating for me to be in another band just to see how it would work if I had all the power or little control.
