1. This better not be about my cheapo video thread HJ ..............
 2.
+1 for Andy @ Wizard and the 'Thumpers'. Fantastic for the money, and great customer service when I dealt with him recently.
I'll go along with that. Love the Thumper in my P. Good choice without spending a lot of wedge.
 3.
At the end of the day it boils down to what inspires you and what interests you. It's a matter of taste. To be honest, Jaco's work does nothing whatsoever for me. And before you ask, yes, I have listened to what he's created. Being a fretless player, I've done my research But at the end of the day I just don't find any of it inspiring to me personally. Thankfully, playing the bass covers a wide area of tones, playing styles, etc.. People can like or dislike what they want, depending on what gets their juices flowing
Exactly. Bit of a silly thread.
 4.
There is an impedance switch on the terror bass though, I'm not sure what it is for, but maybe it is to get your 'full 500w' at various impedance.
The 4 or 8 ohm switch?
 5.
I bought mine at the end of December. Used it live twice and was great, then third time it made an absolute racket when I pushed it through the PA. Was unable to add any volume to the PA channel without horrible distortion. Ended up back at the retailers and it behaved exactly the same there as the line out was running super hot. The amp went back to Orange and was fixed. Am playing again on Sat so fingers crossed will be OK. Interested to know if anyone else has experienced the same? Andy
Mine's very hot on the DI. Some desks can handle it some can't. I have one of these in the little Orange handbag it lives in at all times. Works a treat. 6. Fullers pub. Game on.
 7.
I want to use it in the studio as a D.I box basically, rather than micing up etc. Thanks for the replied people.
You may need one of these 40db Attenuator The DI on mine is too hot.
 8.
Couldn't log in at all on the Mac at home last night. No problem today on works knackered old PC??
Re-started my Mac last night and it all works fine now.
 9. I liked no. 5 followed by no. 2 best. Obviously I'd like both pups on if I had a Jazz. Nice sounds all the way though.
 10.
I quite enjoyed that! Only thing I'd say (apart from echoing your guitar sound issue) is maybe the vocals could be turned down a tad. Truckstop
I'll go along with that. A more natural guitar sound and less vocal would be good. Like the bass.
 11. I'll try clearing my cache tonight. All tmy favourite sock sites will take longer to load now
 12.
Just came across this whilst looking for something else.......................... awesome
Just checked the Youtube hit counter. We've gone from 700 views in the previous 14 months up to 1200. 500 in the last 12 days! We owe all our (not monetary) internet success to you Mr Lush

 14. I glance over at the bass. It stares back at me. I pretend I haven't noticed it and decide to design a new flyer. I get bored with that and catch it staring at me again. I try and write some lyrics. I look at the clock. It's too late to do any practice. I casually pluck the E string and let it ring on the way to bed just to let it know who's boss.
 15. I'd still play because I love it. I'd be a right prima donna as payback though.
 16. I bought my OTB after playing through Happy Jack's. Two people have bought one after playing through mine. It'a a one trick pony but it's a very good trick.
 17.
borrow somebody else's kit, play in a garage and crank the 10W amp up till it blows. oh sorry. yes i know "punk has gone a long way"
Goes all misty eyed... Here are my original 1977 punk settings. WEM Bass Westminster 15 watter. Settings Bass = 10. Treble = 10. Volume = 10. There was no Mid in 1977,
 18. If I saw that in my living room I'd put it straight in the loft.
 19.
I posted this yesterday on another thread, its from the era of "that sound" Obviously there is the mime issue, but is this a bass he was getting that sound from too? Anyone know the story here, of have I got something wrong? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6yTRq_rJg4...feature=related
The jazz, tele and amps are all hire equipment from Maurice Plaquet's, Uxbridge Rd, Shepherds Bush. The Stranglers never used their own gear when miming on TOTP.
 20.
Hey... Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I know the whole P-Bass/Plectrum thing. Already got that down, and got a Grabber on the way too for some more options. I'm not really talking about that though, it's more the EQ'ing of the amp. It seems boosting the low-mids is the way forward here then? I seemed to think boosting the bass and treble, whilst cutting the mids would give me that sound? Jam
Me too. Depends on your definition of punk I suppose. I think my sound is quite dirty and punky. I always cut the mids.
 21. I'm more interested in the kippers that aren't kippers?
 22. We hardly ever play a local boozer. Partly due to landlords looking confused when we tell them we don't do covers and partly because we got the hump with drunk people requesting Sweet Child Of Mine. Anyway we've decided to get back in the saddle and are playing the bijou 6 Bells in Brentford. It'll be a hoot.
 23.
Tony Goggle and his 12 finger tapping adaptation of Rick James' 'Super Freak', on his debut solo album.
Indeed. As they say "You can take Goggle out of Norfolk. But you can't take the Norfolk out of Goggle"
