1. The GEB-7 goes lower GE-7B is a bit more handy for mids It's all subjective anyway Si
2. The ME-50B has +1 Octaves too, but nicer voiced toward bass too Si
3. http://www.bossarea.com/loadpage.asp?file=boxes/geb7.xml http://www.bossarea.com/loadpage.asp?file=boxes/ge7b.xml Well which frequency bands do you prefer? I use both on my board, in seperate channels. I have the GEB-7 in the sub channel for the 50hz boost, and the GE-7B in the 'noise' channel for the 1k band. Each of those frequencies is exclusive to each pedal. Si
4. I know it's an awful picture, but it's only a 'progress' shot as I make some changes and make space for some incoming: Off: Akai Headrush, Behringer Ultra Vibrato, Boss BF-2B & LM-2 On: Boss DM-3 & VB-2, Earthquaker Organizer To come: Fuzzrocious Grey Stache, SFX Loop Logic (for LS-2), BEF is out on loan so will go back on, my Meatbox clone Si
5.
You wouldn't be anywhere near the rating for any power supply I know of's max mA output so I wouldn't worry about daisy chaining them at all.
It's not relevant in this case (as he would daisy chain from a power supply), but it depends what you're daisy-chaining from. If you daisy chain from a Boss tuner for example (which I do in another minimal setup), that only has a 200ma output. Si
6.
Thanks for that Liam. How would the Ibanez SB7 which needs a 220mA input cope with that solution then?
Ah your original post states 22ma Yeah it wouldn't like being severely underpowered with 120ma Looks like the M13 requires around 1300-1400ma AC power, so powering that from a brick will be tough.....unless you have a Gig-Rig . You would need the little AC module, but the Generator puts out 5amps, so you could potentially power the M13 plus your other bits from one Generator/Distributor Look at the Diago solutions as well if you're just going to run the Mesa and M13 on seperate supplies. Best regards Simon
7.
Buying 2nd hand is a good thing to do if you're not 100% if the pedal is gonna get used, that way you can sell it on at minimal/no loss.
+10000 I always try and look second hand, especially when looking at just trying them out. I think I've only bought a couple of pedals new, and they tend to be fairly specialist, Fuzzrocious, CoPilot & SFX (wanted to support small pedal builders). My Source Audio as there were no 2nd hand at the time.....thats it really. Si
8. What are your opinions on the BMS Classic vs BMS XO? Si
9. £600????? I'll stick to my DM-3 & Akai :-D (yes I know it's very different) Looks great though, I wonder if they'll send you one to A/B against the TC Shep Si
10. I should think I'll be along Si
11.
My guitarist in my lil local band has done he same too! Engl Powerball and GM2 via a MIDI board. Great sound and so easy to set up. Very tidy too!
But where's the fun in that, you can't collect/hoard digital effect patches?! Si
12. Maybe look out for A Bogdan Polish Love, it's largely considered to be the higher gain version of the Hate. I've got one and it sounds great, although needs a good service for unwanted hiss. I also have a Fuzzrocious Grey Stache incoming, gated and oscillatiing . Look at CoPilot FX's offerings too, I have the Orbit and it's a pretty versatile Fuzz with VCO Si
13. Depends where he gets a lot of his components, enclosures etc etc. If they're coming from US, then postage saving from him is probably significant, probably nearly enough to pay 3Leaf!? Plus it's how he values his time developing new products. Si
14. If you read the whole TB thread they mention that the cost to the UK should be about the same....or thereabouts. This is because they should see a slight drop in the retail price, which somewhat offsets any extra costs with customs etc. I suppose this is yet to be seen. Si
15. I've just started using my Terror again after about 6months of just using my MarkBass, the MB is great, but I've really enjoyed coming back to the Terror. Wonderful sounding amp, for me anyway I also changed my valves as per Happy Jacks 'How-to' thread, I'd say it was a subtle but important difference, just gives you that bit more clean head-room before any 'grind' is introduced to the sound. Si
16. This is why I asked for a definition of 'Endorsement', they end up being very complicated, with the expectations on either side rarely matching up. Often this is because some people simply approach any old company for freebies, as opposed to wanting to work with the companies who's gear they already have a relationship with. Si
17. The trick will be in the switching, can be the making or breaking of a board like this. Si
18. Define 'Endorsement'?! I have great relationships with Fender & Newtone strings Si
19. Have a little bump on me! Si
20. I WANT OUR STACHES TO ARRIVE ALREADY!!!! #impatient Si
21. Deep Impact is EXPENSIVE, if you can find one! Markbass one sounded cool when I played one, the EHX Microsynth is a great pedal. Or go modular, Wah, Fuzz, Octave etc. Si
22. Sexual!! :-D How long before updated board photos? lol Si
23. Yes, sorry, I was a bit vague. Some effects allow you to control the amount of your clean bass signal that is mixed with the effected signal. This can work well with Dist./Overdrive/Fuzz because you sometimes lose attack and low-end. There are arguments for blending, as well as against, where people simply prefer to find a pedal that they like the sound of straight off the bat, rather than relying on having to blend in their clean sound. Si
24.
[sup]im excited for MEAT[/sup]
We've decided on 1590BB enclosures, just to make progress really. Smaller might be possible, but my opinion is that it isn't worth the labour/time spent to shrink our PCB design further. Si
