  1. Ahhhhh, ‘S’ lock being the later revision!
  2. Hi all, is this a Schaller? I just assumed it was/is🤷‍♂️
  3. You’re welcome, I’d definitely recommend one, totally unique 👍
  4. Yes it is slim, all the way (38mm at the nut) but quite deep (front to back)👍
  5. It really is something, like nothing else. it’s just something I’ve wanted for years (growing up in the 80’s n’all) I has the spirit and it was ok🤷‍♂️ I’d never even played one until I picked this one up 😄 it didn’t disappoint. (surprisingly heavy)!
  6. Ahhhh nice one, many thanks 👍
  7. I took the front plate off and posted pics over on talkbass, as you can imagine there’s some excellent info from those guys, the pick ups, the moulding inside, leg rest etc etc points to it being very early, someone at the factory has scribed Nov 81 (you can just about make it out) so……all points to being maybe in the first couple of hundred 👍
  8. Hi, I too have a streamline, I’ve always wanted a steinberger and this one came up, an L2 (all the purists seem to prefer the L2) I posted for info over on talkbass and got some great info. The string spacing is narrower and 38mm at the nut (quite different from the status) the sustain is amazing too, it’s quite heavy, which I was really surprised at, i like it so much my status is up for sale/trade the weight and the density of the bass really gives it a unique tone
  9. The strap system works incredibly well on it
  10. Growing up in the 80’s it’s been on my ‘want’ list for a long time😄
  11. Hope so, its a very comfortable bass to play, thank you
  12. Thanks, I’m really pleased how it came out
  13. Ibanez Roadster 80’s 32” Medium scale. These are quite rare now and it took me a while to find, it was a hideous turquoise blue when I got it, I stripped it back to reveal a lovely grain 2 piece body, I treated the body with true oil which really brings out the grain (there’s a small ding on the 2nd fret) I’ve replaced the tuners with hipshot ultralights in gold to match the brass bridge & gold knobs (the originals were rubbish and this improves the look & balance) it’s supremely comfortable light to play with a pretty low action, it comes with its original hard case (there is still a little bit of evidence of the blue on the back) the only thing I never got round to replacing was a headstock logo. I’m in Swindon, Wiltshire NOW £450
  14. Another/evolution of the Stienberger L2/XL2, 1 piece composite. Ergonomically perfect (with 1 mod, that's stupid strap thing on the back)🤷‍♂️
  15. Bought a streamline from Bill, top man to deal with, thanks bill
  16. Ok ok, we all know he ain’t making any for a while but…….🤣🤣🤣
  17. Apologies, now sold
  18. Hey thanks, I’m pretty happy with the nexk relief And it’s pretty low but it buzzes when screwing down the saddles further, I did think about nut slots as it looks like I could tweak those 👍
  19. How do you all go about getting the lowest possible action, is there a sequence you follow? And what is considered a ‘low action’? Thanks in advance
  20. No problem 👍
  21. Hi, on the headstock
