  1. that's the numbers i recall
  2. Stunning!
  3. Anniversary, and in the FS section at the moment
  4. Olinta £5000! 🤣 Seriously? The world’s gone mad🤦 how in the world can that ever be better than a 2nd hand US standard or Pro at 900-1000 quid
  5. snotwood........could well be but i like it😀
  6. Very interested in seeing this build, gotta feeling these necks are gunna blow status necks out it the water! Having had status, steinberger & Moses the solid resin core is superior (IMHO)🤷‍♂️
  7. What an incredible bass for the money, shame there's not the Status 'Martin's not making anymore' hysteria as this looks an amazing instrument
  8. Thank you
  9. thanks, would that XL nickel?
  10. anyone? no silks at tuners, maybe Roto's?
  11. That’s a lot of bass for 1200 quid
  12. +1 on the L2 I just personally didn’t like the neck, narrow 38mm nut and quite a deep profile (IMO) I read somewhere Ned made it like that on Stanley Clarke’s advice🤷‍♂️ an absolute design masterpiece, I just sold mine as there’s so many other ‘itch’s to scratch’🤣
  13. Yeh never liked the bridge with the mutes! Wayyyyyyyy to big but after that with the extra bolts is perfect to my eye, that’s gotta be a better design than a ‘bent tin plate’ just screwed in🤷‍♂️ that’s what sets the stingray apart, I’m quoting the tin plate from Fender forums!🤣
  14. i don't understand the thought process behind the bridges on newer & special models with the bridge, what's happened to the bolts that screwed into threaded inserts into the body? it must be better for sustain surely, that to me is a step backwards! (cost cutting)??
  15. Thank you, i may have sourced a supplier also
  16. £200 off as something has caught my eye, Stingray Anniversary 1976-1996, Flamed maple top with Birdseye neck, aside form a small ding by the jack socket and light tarnishing of the tuners its in perfect condition, zero fret wear, comes with original Tweed style hard case, i've replaced the chrome knobs with black one's as i think they look better (originals of course included), i've removed the scratch plate for a better look (IMHO), something i'd have to try and find. these came with a satin finish on the neck, very smooth & playable. recent GHS Pressurewounds. i understand these were made in very limited numbers for 1 year only, a great addition for any Stingray enthusiast. reasonable offers considered, no trades please Can post
  17. Hi, northwest from memory
  18. IMHO £3-4K or if you actually want to sell it £2.5-3K, but if its that beat up less, but thats my opinion of course (i repaired some dings on mine it's not as big a deal as Headless USA will have you think, with the right stuff)
  19. Well I prefered the construction of the L2, more of a resin with real density, I liked my streamline but just couldn’t bond with the shape, the S2000 was nice but I just couldn’t get the action I wanted, and having no truss rod there was nowhere to go in terms of adjustment (unless it went back to Rod involving heat treatment) it sounds cool all this no truss rod business but I don’t think they all stayed perfectly stable, and……i unashamedly cashed in on ‘Rob’s not making anymore’ hysteria🤣
  20. I guess it depends on ‘U’ or ‘C’ P bass etc etc, I found the status to be shallow front to back as does my current bass (goodfellow) but as you say quite rightly all opinions eh? 🤷‍♂️
  21. had one of those too!🤦 gotta say though if someone were to reproduce the L2 now I reckon it would fly off the shelves!
  22. Sold mine last year, if only it had the neck profile of the status, for me the nut was too narrow (38mm from memory) I read that Ned asked Stanley Clarke for advice on the neck to which he advised a narrow nut and deep front to back, neither to my tastes🤷‍♂️
