Here i have up for grabs a set of Seymour Duncan SPB-3 Quarter Pound Split P Bass pickups. I'd preferably like to trade them for a set of the SPB-1 P Bass pickups please Condition - 9 / 10 I would say 10 but they're not brand new so they can't be 10 but basically, they look as if they're new I fitted them to my old sunburst P Bass that i had for about a month before selling it but i took the pickups out before i sold it so they were in the bass for about a month and that is all theyve been used for. After that, i put them in a protective box and that was that. Reason for selling the bass was I was made a very good offer for it so I couldnt refuse. Theyre excellent pickups and i have a set in my other P bass (Which is currently being re-painted) but i want to try out some SPB-1's so yeah. If you have some, let me know Cheers Stevie.D

Wow, ouch man... That seriously sucks... What cabinet is that on?

I use the Seymour Duncan SPB-3's in all the P Basses Ive had (apart from one old one) and they really do improve the tone and help to give more bottom end as well as filling out the high end. Best pickups for a p bass in my opinion. But thats becuase they give me the exact tone i want for the bass

I don't think they are. Although, the American Vintage '57 Reissue Precision seems to be a very good bass. I just dont like the american standards to much
To provide basic shielding against hum. Brass, as far as I know. No. No, it serves the same purpose (though arguably not as well) as the shielding. It's just wired to ground (the back of a pot, etc). http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/bass_elec.htm Yes.
Well thats all my questions answered. Big thanks to you ~tl, your a big help (Y)

Hi Basically, I've been looking at some really old Fender Precision Basses and I've noticed alot of them had grounding plates under the pickups so I was just wondering: 1: What they are there for? 2: What are they made from? 3: Will it improve the tone of my P Bass (fitted with Seymour Duncan SPB-3) 4: Will it still work even though I've got cavity shielding on my P Bass? 5: How do you wire it in? 6: Where can I get one? 7: Will I still need to wire a ground to the bridge if I fit one of these ground plates? Cheers guys Stevie.D

I really want this as I'm GASing for one of these or a Rickenbacker 4003 So anyways, Have a free bump on me!

Hey, has anyone out there tried using the Seymour Duncan SRB-1n and SRB-1b in their Rickenbackers? If so, how do they compare to the originals in a Rick 4001/4003? Do they still posess that unique Rickenbacker sound? Cheers!
