1. Also, How bloody heavy is the heat sinc in trace elliots! Christ! I dismantled the whole head to give it a routine maintenance (as it didnt look like it had had one since it was made in 1990) and nearly gave myself a hernia on the heat sinc! Also, in reply to Lozbass's statement, i did actually sit there and check i hadnt left a metal sleeve on the inside of the wooden case =P so it wasnt a silly question, but no, there wasn't a case in there. it's really wierd that Trace did that. it must of been one of the earliest GP12 Series 6 models or something... I don't know Cheers guys, everyone on here has helped me out so much and when i get some more money, i'll be donating to the website
2. By the way, Thats a beautiful rig you have there Neil! Thanks for your help
3.
I had the same problem with my TE head. I got one of these 19" rack shelves off the bay. I turned it upside down and put it ontop of the amp chassis. I then drilled holes in the shelf to line up with the threaded holes on the TE chassis. I then bolted the shelf to the top of the chassis. worked great. You have just saved me so much time, effort, money, swearing, blood, sweat, broken amps.... You are a legend! Thanks so much, ive just bought one of the 1u ones. Do you think the 2u one would of been better though Hope i havent just made a big mistake with it haha
4. Thanks for the help guys I'm a tad handy at metalwork so ive decided to build a stainless steel case for it and attach the rack ears to that Also, my uncles a professional metal-worker so he'll help me with it. I'll make some rack ears at the same time for it as well. either that or try the BAS ones out Cheers anyways guys
5. Hi there I've attached a picture of the side of my Series 6 Trace Elliot GP12 head after i took it out of the wooden casing as i'm going to be rack mounting it Thing is, i then looked at the side to see where i would attach rack ears to and it doesn't look like i can. Reason for this is, i looked at the official Trace Elliot rack ears on the British Audio Service website and it says they are for "Series 6" but theyre only a L shape bracket I've attached pictures of both the rack ears and the head unit from the side If you have any info, let me know. im really stuck and quite f*cked off right now with this Cheers
6. I'll take them pleeeease!

9. Thanks very much for the advise guys I do have 2 people (guitarist and my dad) to help me lift my equipment about so it shouldn't be to much of a problem with another 4x?? if i have casters put on whatever i end up with as well. I did look into DI'ing my bass but after spending just shy of £500 on a new head, rack tuner and wireless's, i dont really want that stuff to just sit and gather dust. I'm on a course of physio right now which will go on for a month to try and sort myself out
10. Ouch man, I'm glad your wife got over it apparently it's a really easy thing to get on my dads side of the family as they all had it. weak muscle or something, i dont know im on 2 sets of painkillers and sitting against the wall in an L shape with a pointy hat that has a D on it right now... haha Tried out a Marshall Dynamic Bass rig today, think it was 4x10 cabinet but it was really good. seemed light too Might buy one, strip my ashdown speakers and tweeter out, put them in that, put the marshall ones in the ashdown and flog it on ebay haha
11. Cheers guys Thanks so much for your help I tried to lift my cab tonight, didn't even get it off the floor and nearly burst into tears as i've ruined my back completely It may sound pathetic to you lot but i just can't believe i've done it, i'm only 19 for christ sake! haha I'm going to check out the Barefaced 412 and see what thats like, and at 30lbs, that sounds like it'll be a bit more handy. My guitarist will still have to help me lift it though =(
12.
Bumpo, Offers?
I'll give you £60 for the cabinet mate That's all they go for on ebay at the minute
13. Hi guys Basically, after a bad accident at work, i've now got Sciatica which means no heavy lifting Problem is, i have gigs coming up soon and as you can see, I use an Ashdown 410T as my cabinet and theyre heavier than a horse. so, i need some recomendations on 4x12 cabinets that are cheap and lightweight as i've come to the conclusion i cant keep the Ashdown even though it's a great cabinet. Please help guys! I was even thinking of buying the Marshall MG412 guitar cabinet and fitting it with bass speakers and a tweeter which i know some other people have done before and it works a treat, and it's lightweight too. Cheers!
14. Hi guys I will be selling quite a few things on here over time so here's a feedback page Cheers!
15. Hi guys Has anyone got any spare Trace Elliot rack ears? I need some for my GP12 Series 6 as im rackmounting it in a 4u case with a korg tuner and akg wireless kit British Audio Service is a bit to expensive for me right now so im wondering if any of you lovely greeners have any i could buy Cheers!
16. I've just been given another AKG Wireless bug kit, the Pro 40 WMS which can be dual rack mounted or single mounted so ive decided to mount both of them, connect them using a double to single jack running into the input on my trace head then running a cable from the 2nd output on my head to a rack tuner. Phoning AKG tomorrow to see if they can change the 2 bugs to body packs. Failing that, im going to ask my uncle to build me 2 cases i can put them in and use as body kits Sorted lads! I'll upload photos when ive got my rig sorted (Y)

21.
Hey nice bass, I am sure this will go very quickly! Iron Maiden were the first band I saw live back in 80/81 (god I am old) I used to have the hair to match! Ah sweet memories! I guess your after the Fender Steve Harris P now ;-) I played one a few days back and its perfect! Yeah, this was bought to be a copy of Steve's P Bass from the 80's but I'm thinning down my gear and the moneys going towards a custom paintjob for my proper Fender P Cheers mate
