I'd experiment personally. Typically, you'd have it towards the end before delays and reverbs but not a hard rule.

I've made very few alterations to my board since getting the Quad Cortex. I made a few alterations last night and pretty happy. I'm really enjoying this layout, though. Got my Model feT and Cali76 as pretty much always on and a couple of dirt flavours the QC doesn't really cover. I'm really happy with the bass and guitar tones I'm getting out of this.

If you’re trying to capture an amp and cab then sure. I think it’s more common to pair a capture of an amp with an IR for the cab. For that you just need a DI or a load box.

I think a lot of people who're interested in these units have a sound that they're completely happy with already, they just want a more convenient form factor.

Great amp, but I need space. 2 channels, valve preamp, I believe. Incredibly versatile. This developed a weird issue where it'd cut out randomly, and playing a loud not would fix it. It's very odd and probably something someone would be able to fix easily. Comes with flight case and footswitch. Need rid asap, so I'll keep it around for a week, and then it's gonna be going to a charity if they'll take it, but more likely a skip.

I’ve been running the QC in to the FX return and it sounds killer.

Recommend me some modern (or not) music with upright bass

Anything with Trevor Dunn on double bass is bound to be interesting. -
Amazing! I'm really intrigued by the Prismic Wall, though I can't imagine how I'd use it!

Haha lovely build. My now wife was previously called Bonita Wood 🙌

I’m just using sketch mostly and doodling on my iPad so don’t have access to any real software. Just an SVG or even just a JPG would do!

Aye if you don’t mind sharing it that’d be handy. Kind of going for a very stylised version of the tele, all the bezels will be 45 degrees with no rounded edges.

It’s surprisingly good, it’s pretty slim, not crazy slim though. Finishing is good, fret work looks good too although I’m expecting a little fret work once it’s all together. For the amount of time it’s gonna save me it’s well worth it though. I’d say it’s every bit as good as any budget to mid level guitar I’ve ever played. I just wish you could find them without inlays, I’d prefer to use luminlay on the side and keep the top dot free ideally.

There's the body wood alongside the wenge neck. The neck was bought online as I don't hav e to make one from scratch. I also got an extra spare bit of wood for making a control plate, will use magnets to attach. So far I’m thinking something like: or with a matte black scratch plate: Kind of going for a Tele/Peavey T-60 inspired look. A Tele-60 perhaps. Going to rip off the T-60 single/humbucker tone blend electronics too.

I got this off Feel Good Wood on eBay. They have a few nice bits in but couldn't turn this down. I really love the orange streaks and figuring with Black Limba, and it's rare to get it all in one piece for a reasonable price from my research!

Haha good things aren't worth rushing! I do want to make another bass at some point, which will be the one I spend more time on. It'd probably have a similar body but with an American Walnut top, a laminate set or bolt-on neck, and a lot of finer detail. Maybe even go overkill and use threaded inserts and bolts for everything instead of screws etc. One at a time though!

While I'm happy with the look of my previous kit-built telecaster, I'm not happy with how it plays and sounds. The neck is really chunky, and body wood is really soft and dark sounding. Decided I'd make one from scratch. I'm thinking of another telecaster style shape, but with some more modern design elements thrown in. Just got the body wood delivered. It's a really nice slab of Black Limba with some nice orange streaks. Will document progress. It may not be a fast build 😂

3.0.0 is out, and so far, I'm super impressed. Grabbed the Gojira plugin, and it sounds awesome. The approach to plugins is pretty great. Having the different fx available to drop into the signal path how you want is excellent.

Someone on TB who makes some excellent presets wrote a pretty comprehensive guide to them - https://www.talkbass.com/threads/quad-cortex-neural-dsp.1442415/page-152#post-28593766

Never tried it for bass although a few folks have said the fx are handy for bass too.

I have Nolly, and I will probably go for Rabea or Asato for my freebie. I've never been bothered about the DG drives other than the A/O stuff. I'll be honest. The more I play with clean blend drives like the ground & pound, the more I think it's just not for me. I prefer a less processed sound, I think. If they did add the Alpha Omicron to the DG suite, I'd be more open to it, though!

I had mine on a single outlet and never had any issues at all.

Try this, it’s less DAW specific IMO and easier to follow. https://youtu.be/7JtL1wQyclw?si=Fc5YIZlH_NJrUcVn
