1. The Proline is not in my possession yet... It's on the way. I only need 1 can as it's more than loud enough! I bought the Proline as I got it at a bargain price and can't afford another Neo yet. I can't see why anyone would need more than 1 EBS Neoline 212. The cab can take more than a Fafner II can throw at it. Unless your playing stadiums or the O2 Arena you only need 1 4ohm cab. When I have the money I'll sell the incoming Proline and get another Neo because it's lighter...
2. I use 212's. I find they do the job of evening the sound better than other cabs. What I have found though is that one good one (like an EBS Neoline that can take 600w) I generally enough and I can't imagine needing to use 2 cabs. My EBS Neo 212 does the job perfect! Shep
3.
Yup, that is what it sounds like when you twist the string as you install it.
I'm intrigued by this concept as I've never heard of it an hav always wrapped the string around the peg a few times to get it started. Never experience the issue describe here and I've of thought it was a nut issue, but if I do in the future are people basically saying to use just the machine head to coil the string rather than starting by hand and letting th machine head finish the job? Shep
4. Top man. Cheers. Definitely seems worth the extra. Given the relatively small price gap I imagine the NXT sells a fair amount more than the WAV. £200 for an end pin! Ouch.
5. Lovely bass. If this was a 6 I'd take it now! Someone buy this quick! (if you want a setup doing on that Sandberg to bring the action down to as low as the Thumb gimme a shout!) Shep
6. Very tempted by one of these... Did it come with the tripod as standard? What's the difference between the NXT & the WAV models (other than about £100). Shep
7.
hahah thats a board! nice! my board is quickly going this way! my guitarist is scared! lol andy
Thankfully I don't have a guitarist to scare
8. You get what you pay for. If your thinking around the price of the Digitech, then honestly that I the best at that price point. Spend a little more and you can get a Boss SYB or EHX MicroSynth. The EHX has the better sound, but can only be set up for one sound at a time... The Boss will let you have a few presets, but non of which are amazing. For a Single pedal solution the Markbass is by far the best but you need to spend time with it hooked up to a computer to get the best out of the sounds (although the presets are still better than the other pedals listed). There's loads of info here - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=72012 plus if you use the search function in the effects forum for 'synth' you'll find loads more. Obviously the most versatile way to do it is analog with multiple pedals... But it gets expensive... Like this - DanOwens blog is worth reading as well - http://mrdfowens.tumblr.com/ Shep
9.
mmmmmm
Damn you autocorrect!!! Back on topic... Lovely bass!
10. All duplicate threads have been closed. Please stick to this one and edit the first post if details need changing etc Good luck with the sale! Shep
11. Welcome! Hope you enjoy the place as much as the rest of us.
12. I know it's a bit far away, but is anyone coming from near/around Nottingham (or passing through Notts on the way down) that fancies picking me up. I'd happily pay half the petrol both ways... Shep
13. Fuzz Guitar boutique in Nottingham stock MTD. They don't have access to the Tobias stuff though.
14. Just googles Travis Bean. It was a Travis Bean.
15.
Can you check what Lancaster is playing then please?
Looks like a Kramer to me
16. Kemp was definitely playing his Wal... I Sky Plus'd it and have it on my screen! Has it slung over his shoulder as they walk on stage, but starts playing when the band do...
17. Some great basses on this thread. Musicman do the stealth look so well. I do with they'd make a Stingray 6 string though!!!
18. Quick vid from rehearsal on Xmas Eve. Just after set up before we made any real noise. Shows the pedalboard against the rest of the room/rig/drums etc to give you a full idea of the size! Not sure if you'll get any sound as I've just moved house and don't have broadband set up yet so this has been compressed and uploaded to Photobucket via iPhone. 19. Also interested in taking this at that price. If it's still available AND after Wright/Watt (welcome to Basschat by the way) has had 1st refusal, I'd be interested. Any chance of a pic of the actual cab? Shep
20. So tempted. Lovely instrument. Had my eye on the Bassline Universal 5 in the Gallery for a while, but this may be turning my eye...
21. I had one. Loved the tone, but found it didn't track the G or C strings (I play a 6) very well at all. Sounded great everywhere else. Felt like it needed a certain amount of 'bass' in the note to trigger it correctly. Wouldn't track chords at all either. Still remains one of the beat tonal Octavers available though!
22. Have a great time this Christmas everyone. Thanks to all of you for making BassChat so flipping great! Shep
23. Great looking board Simo. Fantastic. How do you find the MXR Noise Gate. I really need to try a noise gate out soon for my monster board...
24.
Thanks Shep! Someone recommended Roscoe to me recently, I'm not so keen on the shape but they have a spec that suits me well. I'll have to look up RIM I've never heard of those!! Does chambering bring up balance issues? I've gotta get me one of those comfort Strapp's just got to work out the length I need lol
Roscoes are stunning. The fretless Roscoes are the best fretless basses I have tried. The shapes arn't all great, but I quite like the Century series (which I have). Chambering only casues issues on balance if the builder doesn't select the neck woods etc to counter act... any Luthier worth his salt will adust wood chices and strap pin position to make it work. Chambering doesn't always save loads of weight, some basses I've felt only save a small amount, maybe 0.2lbs, but it depends on how its done. mcgrahams Wood & Tronics is chambered and it weighs about 6.5lbs or something silly, so it obviously depends on how its done. RIM/Robbie McDade - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=9653 or http://www.rimcustombasses.co.uk/ - Link in my Sig to my RIM Marseer 6. The weight is saved as the body is quite small compared to a regular Jazz size bass. As for the Comfort Strapp, I have the Short one, which I bought as my RIM has high strap pins. It's fine, but I'd prefer it to be an inch or so longer, as such I'm prob going to get the longer one. The Short one really is for guys that wear the bass high (up over your boobs, like Victor Wooten), if thats you, let me know and I'll sell you mine a few quid cheaper than a new one and I'll buy the long. If you dont wear it up real high then go for Long!
25. I recently picked up an EA Wizzy 10. It's very light. Compact, and fits in a special EA backpack so you can carry it with bass in hand to a gig. Handles a low B well. Tilt back option. Comes in under your budget. Perfect:)
