Your RV5 is precisely the same as mine. Nice, aren't they? Massive tone, and very slappable for a 5er.
Yes BJ, fantastic. the pre amp is amazing..very punchy slap tone with great warmth..very much like the TRB i might add..

My collection so far.. In no particular order..My love at the moment...Yamaha TRB6II, my new bass!! this thing has such a great tone all the way from B to C, the tones as clean as a whistle, but can give me some serious funk, amazingly built for the money there is no better, period.......Fender Jazz 24, my first decent bass..i love this thing, no big bucks but has got some jazz bass honk and so easy to play.. Fender Jazz 75 RI, amazing bass, love the tone from this instrument, loads of punch and growl..i love the simplicity of a Jazz..Sadowsky RV5, what can i say, this instrument is flawless, i have never seen something so well made..the tone is better than anything i have heard this side of a Skjold Lions Pride(which i have seen for sale on here) For me Sadowsky do so many thing right, Tone, Workmanship, Playability, Aftersales.. But i love playing them all as much as each other, for different reasons.. They all sound amazing through the Aguilar and Korg.. Sorry for the huge pics.. anyone let me know why they so big.. how annoying.!!!

I know this has prob been asked before, but its allways interesting to hear the responses....if you could stick with just one bass. i guess your desert island bass, what would it be..£100 Harley Benton, £4000 Fodera, Squire Jazz, Vintage Fender, your custom Shuker (Dood)??

Bought a Yamaha TRB 6 yesterday from aroundabout sound in cheltenham and i hate to say this but i loved it more than my Sadowsky RV5. the tone is like nothing i have ever heard..maybe i havent got the sadowky set up right..i was amazed how easy this bass was to play..the action is perfect..it just feels sooo well made and precise.. a very focused instrument..sounds awsome through my aguilar 212..Will post pics soon.. the best funky punch i have heard on a bass..anyone got one..??

I recently wrote a thread on Steely Dan and how much i love these fantastic musicians..I erm... also want to share my love for Donald Fagan..After a long time ( since New Zealand in 1984) i had a listen to The Night Fly..I know there are alot of love for Donald and the Brecker Bro's here.. I would recognise Donalds voice anywhere.. I for one love there/his chord progressions, so creative. He must have some of the best bass players who have ever lived on that album..Will Lee, Marcus Miller, Abraham Laboriel, Anthony Jackson, Chuck Rainey, how many greats can you get on one album for god sake.. Green Flower Street always picks me up.. Ruby Ruby when will you be mine.
Kev's just saying that Fenders can be a risk when your spending that much money on one and I agree with him, but there are great Fender Jazzes out there, there just few and far in between. Hmm, I thought the NYC's lacked the real growl and the Metros did a damn good imitation? It seems as of late that Sadowsky's are not living up to their jazz growl reputation.
Yeah i guess, what do you think it is that can make a bad Fender? Fit and Finish, Electronics?? Is it less likely to be a turkey if the bass is American made???
there are many different jazz's out there for £1000, just keep a sensible head and dont blow it on a fender
Whats up with Fender, i played an American Vintage 75 the other day and it was killer.. I have a Sadowsky 5, so im looking for a better 4 string Jazz to replace my Jazz 24..Sadowsky's IMHO dont have that old school growl a Jazz should have.. Im looking more and more at those Sandbergs!!

What is the best Jazz for around £900/£1000. Cant think of that many to be honest..Has to have that jazz growl!!
Hello, looking at your location I am going to make a pretty big guess and say that it it is the spitfire for sale in Aroundabout sound in Cheltenham. If this is the bass in question it is mind blowing. I was so near to buying this bass and the only thing that stopped me was the fact that I really wanted a 5er. It is apparently a rare beast and Bernie apparently made 2-3 with the same piece of wood (not exactly the same piece) for a show of some kind. 2 were sold and this one was left. I think that was the story behind it. It is very punchy and very clean and harmonics just ring out on this thing. I was in the shop for at leats an hour playing it. I would say it doesnt growl like a standard Jazz, but it has so much more. I have played a lot of high end basses and this just puts everything else to shame in terms of build quality and sound. It is smooth responsive and the EQ is very powerful. You would never have a problem cutting through with this. All this is of course if we are talking about the same bass. This is the one in cheltenham:
Yes tis that one NJE, calling Mark today to try it out..What do you think of the price bro???
Hi mate What's the spec on this bass? (Is it new, loaded with the GB LED/Controller system etc) because (without the benefit of knowing said specs) it seems pricey to me I have had two basses (a rumour and a spitfire) custom built for me by Bernie and all I'll say is, for that kind of money, it'd be worth talking to the man himself! Cheers Dave
Dave this is the bass,(sorry cant paste for some reason) www.guitarsales.co.uk last bass in 2nd hand basses.. What do you think on this price..I dont know how long hes had it. no LED's from what i know..

Hey people. After buying a Sadowsky 5 (and loving it ) i want to get another 4 string..I have the chance to buy a GB Spitfire, which im going to try out this week.. .What should i expect from these basses, i have heard great things..This bass is roughly £1800, is this a good price for this instrument (in this current climate).. Bass Ferrett/Phsycoandy if your out there...are they Sadowsky like, or something totally different, i have heard the electronics are very powerfull..Can i expect a Jazz growl or more of a modern punch?? Any thought appreciated!!
