    I bought a 40th Jazz. It wasnt perfect but after a bit of setting up it is just superb. And those pickups.! Wowzer.

    Jeez someone buy this. These are getting so sought after nowadays. They rarely come up for sale. I remember playing one at the gallery and it was such a fantastic sounding jazz bass. a lot of cats think they sound darker sound but ooh no..

    I had one. I totally hated it. bad fret ends,felt really cheap. And i mean really badly put together Of course i cant speak for every one but your money would be better spent on a Squire imo. I dont care if it had hipshot hardwear i would still stay away.

    Does such backing track exist. Im trying to jam with a drummer but we need some backing track with no drums or bass. Just chords.guitar piano. Obviously there may be a click track but can i find them. Nope.

    Bless you. Your correct. I hesitate because im not sure exactly what would groove best. I personally love playing that way. I have to think on the fly. I think thats good for any musician.

    Its what I love I love about Bass Chat. You will get a very nuanced balanced opinion. Put the vid on FaceBook. "oh thats amazing Andrew"(usually my sister) 😂 deep down im my worst critique. I guess most musicians are like that.

    I gotcha. Ive only played that record once before so my playing probably wasn't as tight as it may have been if I had played it 20 times. but I get what your saying.

    Keep in mind I have no compression involved.Im sure most know what compression can add to the bass.. I hit notes that I feel need accentuating. I may be missing the point here but hey ho I will certainly take that on board and positively so. Hmm compression pedals. 🤔.

    Thanks soo much for the feedback. I just sat down and played, so didnt really think too much about my timing or fills etc. I would never record like that, im way too OCD. Im reading all the comments and absorbing them all. So thank you. Oh and the Dachshund was just bored I wasn't playing tug the sock with him. 😆

    Im not asking anyone to blow smoke up my derrière, Im aware there are some very accomplished musicians on BC. Im just asking for some honest reviews. Its a cover from Bruno Mars/Anderson Pakk's Fly as Me of course. I never seem to play what the original bassist plays and you may be able to tell if you now the original. I tend to add my funkiness if that is possible. Im putting some vids out there to see if I can get some work as a semi pro bass player. Anyways any negatives or positives are welcome.

    I can tell you this bass is possibly one of the greatest 5 string jazz basses ive ever played as it used to be mine. . Sounds incredible, its light also.. Ive dealt with JC and he is a really nice guy. These early Ateliers are the real deal. GLWTS JC.

    All original Lakland Deluxe 5502 for sale. 8/10 condition. There are swirls in the top coat. A few very small marks on the neck. Amazing quilted top. PLEKED.. USA LH3 preamp Lakland USA pickups. Made in Korea so its a 2006. 9.8 pounds . I only play basses that feel and play amazing and this is one of them. Dead straight neck with a super low action. Anyone who knows these basses know they are massive sounding with articulation. The greatest all rounder bass without doubt. Ive had a Laky USA 5594 and apart from the quarter sawn neck i cant tell the difference. I dont have a hard case so cant post ( unless you want to supply a hard case as i dont use them) but can deliver within 30 miles for a meet up. I will consider a Sire 5 string plus cash my way.

    I easily prefer the stock bridge. To my ears the high mass takes away the bright attack of a jazz bass. More compessed. So for it looses that attack that a jazz bass is known for. Like alot of bass gimmicks in the basd world lime string through bodies et etc. BUT im not going to knock em because it certainly works for some cats.

    Ive played with alot of drummers in my time but this guy.. hes a fantastic bass player also. Drummer with the orange Jazz.

    Me and a pal who's a drummer want to have a jam along with some chords, so I was looking for some backing tracks with no drums or bass. Can I find any.!! Nope.. Something funky latin etc. Any ideas. ? Thankyou.

    Pretty fed up of buying cheap AUX cables and 1/4 inch adaptors from Amazon. Any idea where I can find these two items that actually last.? Thanks for any info.
