  1. That's a long time to wait to get a bona.
  2. I prefer Branston Baked Beans to any other make, I've used them exclusively for years.
  3. This is my only reason for doing anything musically. The reason why I stopped gigging was that I got absolutely nothing out of it. I'm not an "entertainer" by nature & have absolutely no desire to be one. I'm at my happiest when I'm just working on my own in my little music room seeing what I come up with. I enjoy the process far more than the end product.
  4. Over the years I've come to realise that solos in live performances are largely aimed at the non-musicians in the audience, who can just enjoy it for what it is & not indulge in an orgy of chin-stroking & dissection over every note/phrase/nuance.
  5. I love a good solo. Very much depends on who's doing it though - Trilock Gurtu drum/percussion solo, yes please. Tommy Lee drum solo, no thanks. 🙂 Same with other instruments - there are great solos & there are duffers trying to wing it & failing miserably.
  6. Unfortunate acronym... 🙂
  7. Bought a beautiful Bacchus bass from Paul. Excellent to deal with, very smooth transaction from start to finish. Bass arrived very well packaged & beautifully set up. Many thanks!
  8. Truck Driver Divorce - Frank Zappa
  9. Bloody Hell Matt, that's a stunner! 😍
  10. Honeysuckle Rose - Fats Waller
  11. Human Fly - The Cramps
  12. Summerland - Kings X
  13. I don't use a tuner at all. 😂
  14. I've gone through brief periods of using various pedals but I invariably go back to not using them pretty quickly. I'm not even that interested in amps if I'm honest, so long as I can hear myself I don't really care what it is.
  15. Gasoline Alley Bred - The Hollies
  16. Funky Moped - Jasper Carrott
  17. Mood Indigo - Duke Ellington.
  18. The Golden Calf - Prefab Sprout
  19. T-Dog does some awesome finishing work, don't think there's a better finisher in the country right now.
  20. Some people, me being one of them, had basses ordered that were never fulfilled... 🤬 I ended up ordering a Jaydee because he flipped me around so much. I heard that he did a runner because he owed a lot of people a lot of money. Don't know if it's true or not, but going by my dealings with him in the 80s it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. Also heard that he ended up working for Gibson.
  21. It was Belew's involvement, along with Roger Powell (Todd Rundgren's Utopia) & Simon House (Hawkwind), that made me check out the "Stage" album.
  22. That band is just awesome.
  23. I saw them in Cardiff. Big Country & The Screaming Blue Messiahs were superb. Bowie was very much a triumph of style over content IMO. I saw Peter Gabriel in Birmingham a week later & that gig was everything that the Bowie one wasn't.
  24. I only really like a few of his albums & that tends to be largely because of Eno's involvement. Saw him live on the Glass Spider tour & it's one of the worst gigs I've ever been to.
