  1. Up for sale is my stunning 100% stock 1972 Fender Precision Bass, with the original case and the rare 'A' profile neck. Very light at 8.4lbs. It's in wonderful condition and looking at the condition of the frets, it seems to have hardly been played. As you'll see in the pics, it has two marks on the body rear, which I'm sure must have been caused by years of storage on top of a strap or lead (I've spoken to a luthier friend about this mark and he's sure that it could be buffed out). To me, it looks like it was bought in 1972, played for a short time and then stored away. The original mute looks in great shape and the neck and headstock are still that "white" blond maple colour that it looks like from new. But it's a genuine 1972 P Bass! The 'A' neck is very very comfortable. The tortoiseshell scratchplate has a real deep burgundy colour that the newer "modern" scratchplates just cannot match. A few very minor scratches and a minor blemish on the back of the neck that I have tried to capture in one of the pics. No trades please. Collection Preferred.
  2. Just taken a couple of shots Warren. It's one of those finishes that's difficult to capture - seems to look different in almost every shot and definitely looks better in the flesh!
  3. I brought this for a project which shifted direction and so was never used. It's in superb condition as I've owned it from new (annoyingly has 1 tiny ding/imperfection in the lacquer that was there when I brought it - I'll get a picture uploaded tomorrow) Comes in it's original canvas gigbag. A couple of notes pulled from reviews: Perceived as the top model in the Godin bass range, the A4 is essentially a slimline electro-acoustic bass in looks and sounds, but with a definite electric bass guitar feel about it. It was the manufacturer's intention of producing a cross between a solid-bodied and an acoustic bass. It's a whole lot more comfortable to play than a fully sized acoustic bass even if it does mean a little gain in overall weight. The neck, in particular, feels more like a regular solid bass. Collection preferred. No trades sorry. My feedback:
  4. I'll get some more pictures up tomorrow to tempt you further!
  5. Up for sale is my Custom Shop 1960 stack knob Jazz Bass in Gold Sparkle (Light Relic) The bass has been finished with Nitrocellulose lacquer which has been aged to give some wonderful checking. This bass is in immaculate condition with it's original case and case candy and certificate of authentification. My feedback:

  7. Also up for sale is my 1979 pre-EB Stingray. This one has had some playwear as you can see from the photo's - a little paint off the back. Martin from SEI/Bass Gallery did a great refret for me and it's a fantastic player - very smooth, fast (and quite slim) neck and good action. It'll be a gigbag only with this one I'm afraid. Collection preferred. No trades sorry. My feedback
  8. Here's my 73' Jazz Bass for your consideration! I've recently had this set-up by Bernie Goodfellow and it plays/sounds great. The finish is in good shape for the age - a small patch of wear on the back as you can see and some small marks but it does have a really vibrant sunburst and some lovely checking. Comes with the original case which is in great shape. Collection preferred. My feedback:
  9. Up for sale is my 62 Jazz Bass. This one really is great player. It came from Mark St John, manager of the pretty things l as it was used used by them. Here's what Steve Browning has to say about the bass (in the thread below) ..... ''I actually played that very bass in the studio during my time with the Pretty Things. I used it on recordings with Ronnie Spector and David Gilmour and also the single Eve Of Destruction, which made it into the top 40. It's a lovely bass for sure.'' The bass was refinished in the early 80's by Knight Guitars. It's a thin poly finish so is hard wearing but is still showing some nice natural checking from age. A repro pick guard has been fitted (I would think to match the refinish). Pots are original and pickups certainly look to be original also (I'll get some photo's up asap) Please feel free to try it out. Collection preferred. No trades sorry. Feedback:
  10. Nice. I hadn't heard of this one but looks very good to me I've found a couple of Josh Fossgreen's videos to be really helpful in the past.... https://www.youtube.com/user/joshfossgreen

  12. Lots of fantastic advice (I'm in a similar position of having to learn 20 songs in 3 weeks) - thanks guys!
  13. I've just seen the latest on the GB Facebook page. I love it but Bernie won't sell it! He says he wants to keep this one for trade shows
  14. I'm sure that I stumbled on your old Rumour up for sale recently - beautiful dark (walnut?) facings. It's looking like it's been well used now but I'm very tempted to buy it and get it restored by Bernie
  15. An absolutely stunning bass - this photo really doesn't do it justice. So glad you got it back
  16. A really great gig last night - thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it 😀
  17. I'm going tonight - really looking forward to it! 😀
  18. An excellent point (- I honestly hadn't thought of it) ...... it will be done!
  19. Many thanks for the suggestions Steve & Owen 👍
  20. Can anyone recommend a luthier in the south-east to restore and (sympathetically) refinish a pre CBS Jazz bass please?
