1.
Any trades bud?
Thanks for the offer but sorry, just a straight sale
 2. I can only repeat and emphasise what's already been said on this thread. Dan's a friendly, helpful guy with a great passion for, and knowledge of, everything bass related. A pleasure to deal with
 3. It's been a pleasure to deal with Warren over the last week and meet him in person yesterday. A very clear communicator and a thoroughly good bloke
 4.
I got to the point of going over to Sixshooters house to try it out, and he was talking about the process of refinishing it with Joe, was really interesting. Apparently any of the marks, scratches, blemishes etc were still present when it was taken back to natural, so he refinished the sunburst around them essentially. So what you have, for the most-part, is a refinished bass, but the relic'ing is kind of as original as it can be I left his to mull it over, and got cold feet over the price.....silly, should have had it when I had less commitments haha. May well take you up on your offer if I can get to Wimbledon some time soon Si
You have an excellent memory Si! As you say, he's worked the finish around the original areas of damage and wear. I'll have to get some better quality close ups loaded up on here to show the quality of the work. Yes - do drop by if you have a chance - as you know it's just a great experience to play this one
 5.
this is replaceable ?? (I know it is, but you know what I mean...? )
fair comment - and apologies for what's a poor choice of words on my part (could easily have come across as sounding flippant or arrogant and definitely wasn't meant in that way) What I mean is that if it's not the bass or basses that you play/gig regularly and if it is possible (however difficult or costly!) to find another like it in the future I can live without it right now. Having said that I've heard lots of stories of the basses that BCers have always regretted selling and I'm sure I'll be joining them very soon!
 6.
Absolutely gutted that I can't go for it now (buying a house, so no way around it), will have to make do with my '71 P.....which is amazing, but still GLWTS......I'd quite like to know who takes it, you know, in case things change in the future, keep track of it etc
Weird irony Si - I'm having to sell this for a property deal and you can't buy it because of one! I'll let you know where it goes. Give me a shout if you're in the area and want to see it before it goes. Andy
 7. Thanks Sibob - how did you know that?? - Steve did tell me at the time that it was Joe White. I don't have a receipt for the work but happy to take more close up photos of the finish that anyone would like to see.
 8.
There were still a few left over Brazilian boards floating around in '66 as they transitioned, not on this one though I believe.
Thanks Chiliwailer
 9. Haha! I'm on a quick fundraising mission so anything that's not irreplaceable
 10.
Beautiful bass, I'm guessing a 66 would just miss out on a Brazilian Rosewood board?
Good question Chris - I'd assume that it wouldn't be at that stage but not sure ..........anyone?
 11. Up for sale is my 73 Fender Jazz purchased from Gary Mac on BC Here's Gary's excellent original description Fender 1973 Jazz. Sunburst and Rosewood. A lovely vintage sunburst, U.S. Jazz bass, including original hardcase. It’s getting harder to find decent, playable, unbutchered examples of this vintage. I am reluctant to sell but a 60’s Jazzhas caught my eye and so, to fund the purchase I need to move this on first. It will get withdrawn if I miss the opportunity to get the other one. If you are looking for a good 70's Jazz, this is a lovely one. The paintwork has a pleasing level of ageing, patina and wear from over forty years of use but more importantly it just plays so well. Pickups, pots and hardware are all original with the exception of the chrome neck pup cover. The block and bound neck looks great and the fretwork is superb. There are no dead spots and the frets are still in exceptional condition. The fretboard radius is 7.25 Width at nut is approx 38 mm. I haven’t gigged it yet but would happily do so as at just 9lb 6oz it is a comfortable weight and it balances well on the strap. Through my little practice combo it sounds like a 70’s Jazz should sound. The controls work smoothly and the pots are quiet and crackle free
 12. For sale (no trades sorry) is my 59 P-bass which I purchased in 2010 from sixshooter on this site. The original post is still easy to trace ('1959 PBass feeler' posted 26/11/2009) and gives a really comprehensive overview of the bass. This bass is just a fantastic player! - great action and an awesome tone. Sixshooter had this bass refinished and did a wonderful job as you can see from the photos. When I brought the bass I had to have the bottom 3 frets replaced as they were completely worn down - Martyn at SEI / The Bass Gallery did this for me. This includes what certainly appears to be the original 50's tweed case (a little shaky in it's old age!)
 13.
This is a lot of bass for your money. I have 2 of Bernie's basses they really are top notch
I agree 100% Chris - I think everyone should at least try both the Spitfire and the Rumour
 14.
This looks like my old bass! Nice to see it again, I played it lots whilst I owned it. It's a solid thing, great, even string tension, fast neck and very comfy. Highly recommend checking this out if you're looking for a zero issues modern sounding J bass. Best of luck with the sale and give it a slap from me!!
Thanks fingerz! It is a fantastic bass - I personally think GB are really under-rated - the build quality, finishing and tone are up there with the very best
 15. Up next is my EB Stingray 3eq. I brought this new from the bass gallery 2004/5. It's been gigged but well looked after. It's still in great condition - just one small nick on the upper horn which I've detailed in the pics.

 17. This is my 1966 Fender Precision in excellent condition. This bass was evaluated by Andy Baxter for the previous owner. Andy confirmed the bass as all-original and noted that it was one of the cleanest examples that he's seen. There are many more photos here: https://www.flickr.c...57648481750541/ These photos are very detailed and clearly show all of the nicks & scratches. I'm London based so please get in touch to come down and have a look if you're interested in buying.
 18. I've tried to take a couple of shots that do this bass some justice. The finish really is beautiful (and looks even better in the flesh!).
Thanks for the questions Width at nut: 1.765'' String space at bridge: 18.5mm Scale length 35'' Weight 9lbs 6oz I forgot to mention also that Bernie fitted this one with his Tuner and Metronome circuits when he refurbed it
 20.
What year is it Andy?
This is a 2010
 21. ****PRICE DROP!**** Now only £1400! GB Spitfire 5 String for sale - this has had a set-up and complete electronic refit by Bernie (as the pots were scratchy).
