Service from strings direct is top notch. Ordered some EB3flats and got a set with 2 D strings and no A string. After 1 email the A string arrived next day. Exemplary.

Obviously ordering parts from Ohio and shipping to UK is something I don't do every day so was wondering if others have dealt with this firm and whether anyone can vouch for their service? TIA

My guess 1 58 - it sounds like new strings - it is very clean but obviously played on a comfortable well setup player 2 MIM - dull sound lifeless yes old strings but sounds more than just a function of the strings - it sounds difficult to play on this bass 3 71 - has the 70s punch and pop befitting of the style of music being played - this clip sounds 'proper'

I have a P bass from which I wish to remove the string tree on the headstock. Problem is the screw that holds it on is made of cheese and in tightening it up the screwdriver completely destroyed the cross in the head of the screw. Now the screwdriver can get no purchase on the head of the screw in either direction. Drilling it seems like the only solution to remove it.....but this screw is obviously screwed in to wood....surely drilling a screw screwed into wood is problematic? How would you remove said screw?

On Fender Ps and Js with 4 bolt necks it is the same. The std dimensions are 2 1/2" wide by 3 7/8" long by 5/8" deep. The heel end will be rounded (as opposed to squared off on Telebass pockets). the 24 fret P deluxes have a different neck pocket

Only ever used standard tunings. I have used speeded up and slowed down standard tunings on analogue tape (in the old days) or melodyne pitch shifting (these days) when recording albums
