  1. just to add i have a pair of the hammers. I think they are really good, they do seem darker than the original mex pickups, and the chromes i have on my jazz really make the difference aswel. I am thinking i'll need to put a little bit more foam on the underneith as they arnt very close to the strings at all, further away than the originals anyway. But stil very loud pickups. Very happy with them
  2. I did say earlier on in the thread but about 56 lbs according to my bathroom scales (which arnt the best). Not exactly light weight i dont think. But maybe compared to a trace, it is! phil
  3. yeah basically. You tend to try and match the cabs tho, so they have similar/same ratings.
  4. erm that was a bit of a confusing question but here is an answer anyway! 400w at 8ohms is the cabs specs. 400w is what it can handle being put into it. If your head can handle 4ohms it will just give half the power out (ish) to this cab as it is 8ohm. And you can then add another 8ohm cab to get the full power out of your head. I'm sure there is someone who can explain this better than me. I'm rubbish with words! phil
  5. yeah i was kinda wondering about that aswel i was just gonna go for the long at a guess!
  6. yeah it is yeah, guessing you havent realised it was me in the post your rig section either! There is a picture of it with my other one. phil
  7. ok, wel i'm going to think about it but i may go all out and get the flats but maybe TI's as they seem to be the most highly regarded. I do have another bass i can borrow if i need the roundwound sound for a gig, but i'm deffinately going to think on it for a bit! thanks for everyone's input phil
  8. Yeah i may try the halfwounds. Its just sometimes i feel i dont get enough "bass" from my bass! I'm on DR high beams at the moment so they may have something to do with it.
  9. Do you reckon i should try the halfwound before i go all the way to flats. As i do tend to do a bit of slapping in the band i am in so would halfwounds be a good inbetween?
  10. Does anyone have any opinions on them? Looking to try some flats and these seem like a cheap option. I could only find one comment on them when i had a look around on here so i'm just looking for any more opinions. thanks Phil
  11. Cant remember if i have posted this before but here it is anyway, at a little gig we did in the beatles museum to promote a CD we are going to sell to raise money for clare house. [attachment=24799:DSC00476.JPG]

  14. Here's my shine next to my fender, its a shine 5 string warrior i think (two j style pickups) it was my first bass and its a decent bass realy, i havnt done much gigging with it but it is a good basic bass, not the best sound, it is a very loud bass though. [attachment=15708:P1000772.JPG]
  15. this could do with going realy and trades for jazz bass's or a precision may be welcomed just ask please!

  20. i think the basic idea is that people want is similar to the the features you get with an ebs microbass but without the 2 channels and the distortion.
  21. Bump just to say its fine by me if you sort postage out!
