1. Sorry, Owen, I wasn't trying to be clever when I posted that. I was after a NV610 but couldn't find one so I went for the 412 when it came up. Been very happy with it (as have my band mates) but I'm just too long in the tooth to be manhandling such a monster
2.
URGH! DON'T NEED IT. DON'T NEED IT. UUUUUUUUUUUUUUURHGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course you do! Grab a bargain while it's there. Tone like that is to die for, believe me.
3. Up for sale is my Bergantino NV412 cab. It has a wonderful tone and is in excellent condition as you can see from the pictures. The only scuffs are underneath on the base and light surface marks on the back - the result of transits in and out of gigs. The weird appearance of the Bergantino badge is some strange reflection that's come out in the photo - it's absolutely perfect. The cab comes with a Begantino fitted cover which is a bit frayed here and there but still serviceable and shows it has been doing its job protecting the cab. The official Bergantino details are as follows:- The NV412 is an exciting new addition to the Bergantino NV range. With their classic "Old School" tones in a superb high end modern sealed cabinet design with state of the art speakers and construction. This new cabinet has less high mid than the 610 but more low mid bass push. The high end is smooth and defined and the mids come through with ease. The low end is powerful yet controlled, even at very high volumes, which is part due to the sealed cabinet design. With the great combination of speed, weight and classic warmth, this is fast becoming another "must have cab" from Bergantino! This cab loves power and will thrive with large S/S or tube amps of 1000w +. Bergantino NV412 specifications: •4 x 12" woofers with vented pole pieces •power handling - 800 watts rms •frequency response: 45hz - 4.5khz •2 x 1/4" and 2 x neutrik connectors •sensitivity: 103db 1watt/1metre •impedance: 4 ohms •dimensions: 36"H x 24"W x 15"D •dimensions: 91.44cm x 61cm x 39.4cm •weight: 108lbs/49Kgs •tilt-back casters I'm only selling this because age is catching up with me and I'm looking for something a bit lighter and more manageable. No trades, I'm afraid as I already have it's replacement. Collection from Leeds, please, or meet up within reasonable distance for the cost of the fuel.
4.
Sorry to butt in, just a note to say I have a black/maple precision with sd qp's, and it's my favourite bass - the qp's add a lot of punch in the low-mids, they make precisions sound a lot more substantial than the stock pickups. It's the one bass that always gets compliments wherever I play it, so i'd say it's a good upgrade for sure.
+1 from me.
5. Just sold my Streamer Stage 1 to Freddie. He's a great guy to deal with, does exactly what he says he'll do with no messing about. Pleasure to deal with him and highly recommended.
6. Just bought a Lakland Joe Osborn DPLE from Dave. Excellent service. The bass arrived just as described, well-packed and in only 48 hours from Northern Ireland. Excellent comms and a completely straightforward transaction. Highly recommended - a credit to Basschat.
7. Yes, it's confusing. I have a USA 1983 Jazz bass that I have seen styled in books both as a "Jazz Bass Standard" and a "Standard Jazz Bass". The moniker "Standard" has been around since then for both Precision and Jazz basses. It was when the company was nearing the end of the CBS era and preparing to sell. Important changes were made at the time like a heavier bridge, biflex truss rod. new design tuners, strap locks and - for the Jazz - a one-piece pickguard/control cover. Hope this helps but have a bump anyway!
8. Bump because I'd forgotten to put "PRICE DROP" in the thread header
9. This is no money for a great bass. I had one of these and I can tell you the neck on it was absolutely super. Very underrated instruments. Sandberg should never have called it 'Basic' as it's anything but. Good luck with your sale.
10. I have one of these and it makes a great practice amp as well as being more than capable of holding its own in smaller more laid back gigs such as the jazz trio I used to be in. I've also used it as a keyboard amp and run my double bass through it. Never needed to turn it up more than half way. The 12" speaker is very warm and has a lovely tone. I'm not parting with mine. Worth every penny at this price. Good luck with your sale.
11.
Used to be mine, it is a stunning bass, great sounds, light as a feather and beautifully finished, well worth a punt.
Hi Chris Hope you are well. It is indeed still just as you've described it - a beautiful instrument.
12.
.... less in the bank maybe? I've always been impressed with the look of the build quality on these. Considering how good it is unless you've just 'got to have' a Fodera doesn't seem much point, your bass is already excellent. .... at least try one out before you do sell this lol!
Thanks, jimbobothy, I think you may well have brought me to my senses! This GAS thing is a terrible affliction. Maybe a Fodera doesn't represent that much added value that is worth the extra expense.
13.
a butterfly on your headstock?
Hmmm! Would a sticky from Poundworld do the job? I think you've got a point there, LukeFRC. Am I being beguiled by all the hype that surrounds them? I watched "Glastonbury Greats" on TV and saw the clip you mentioned of Bakithi Kumalo playing one with Paul Simon on "Call me Al". Shame the bass was so far down in the mix that it was difficult to appreciate that fill he does towards the end
14. Sold a pedal board to Andrew. He arranged collection with ready cash. Great comms and completely hassle-free. Highly recommended.
15. Thanks, LukeFRC. It really is a top class instrument and so easy to play with its low action and deep lower horn cut away. The Bartolini pickups and EQ are very versatile with an output trim pot inside the control cavity to increase the active boost. I have it set low as I only need a very subtle effect from the 3 band EQ. Altogether a very 'musical' bass guitar. I'm selling it as I am looking to finance a Fodera but, whenever I pick it up and play it, I wonder what extra Fodera might give me?
16.
Great sounding amp!!
Agreed - 100%
