If both cabs stopped simulaneously, I would suspect the amp, service notwithstanding.. when did this occur - before or after service? Tried the amp into another cab and with other cables? Etc.

I dug out my LP of Sweet Dreams.. sleeve notes amounted to zilch!
Sorry I don't think that information is right at all. From what I can find Dean Garcia didn't join the band until the Touch album. All of Sweet Dreams was recorded in a small studio with an 8-track machine. My friend who used the same studio for the recording he did with Dave Stewart said that there wasn't anywhere to record a full band and the drums were done on the Movement Drum Computer synced to tape. Live the drumming was done by Clem Burke of Blondie who had played on the previous Eurythmics album which was recorded in Koln with Conny Plank, so I would have thought if there had been any real drums on the album he would have provided them. Further investigation has thrown up this line up for the recording of This Is The House
Haha! The plot thickens! Quite so.. I don't fully trust the cd selling websites, and really don't trust Wikipedia either when it comes to it! P'raps a bit of amateur sleuthing / calling in of favours from those in the know is called for...

Corking track, ta for reminding me! The early Eurythmics stff in particular was just so different! According to cduniverse on Sweet Dreams : 'Additional personnel: Vic Martin (keyboards); Dean Garcia (bass); Pete Phipps (drums); Maggie Ryder, Gill O'Donovan, Susie O'List (background vocals).'
Probably not any use now youve bought it but I have both a lined and unlined and find the unlined much easier to play. I only have side dots on the fret positions (The usual 3,5,7 etc). I, probably like most people, thought it would be the other way round but nope. Those lines and dots just confuse you and keep you in your fretted 'box'. So if your up to buying another I would go for nothing but side dots. Fretless makes you think about what your doing. Which is a good thing A
+1 to the unlined vote above

I tried a chisel the first time I had a go at this.. it's way easier to make a good job with a router, but it's also way easier to make a complete f''kup as well. I'd go for the router, but practice a few times on spare wood first!

OK, so back onto topic.. If I was looking to spend this kind of money on a fretted 4 string, Floyd's OW would be coming home with me! Seriously fancy it, just seriously no justification.

The B2.1u only let's you move up and down a series of patches, so you can copy a patch then edit it to lose the fuzz then switch back and forth between the two. If you want individual switching of effects you'll have to go up to the B9.something in Zoom, or at a similar price but without USB connectivity the Boss ME-50B lets you program or use effects singly.
Erm, just use a 2 bass gig bag with a bit of foam glued in one of the compartments? (or just use it standard, a guitar isn't gonna move that much) Gonna be the most cost effective and easiest options.
+1.. Tribal Planet did one (I have one myself) which is a useful fit if you want to do bass+e-gtr together.

Anything I've ever been given (and I have to say sight reading is not my strong point ) has been the Bass part, written in bass clef. Either that or chords. Sometimes by looking over the pianists shoulder I've noticed that the arranger has given us clashing parts or just plain wrong chords .. makes for some fun discussions and a scramble for the CD player!

How did it go? Sacked or converted?

An added benefit of being sober is that you can appreciate the adrenalin (THE wonder drug IMHO ) far better.

Nice one, Bilbo! I feel sure they could have shoehorned you a bass solo in there, though..
That is a gorgeously sensual bassline. I really don't know where Pino's genius comes from. I feel like washing my ears with medical soap afterwards.
Oooh, the imagery! Totally agree about the bassline, mind.

It worked for Sting! I'm unashamedly biased, but go for it.

My first serious bass bow. German made and stamped 'Alfred Knoll' which tends to mean the better bows of their range. I got it about 8 years ago for just under £400. Round Pernambuco stick, wire lapping. Half-mounted ebony frog with pearl eye. I had it rehaired to black, as at the time I vastly preferred the extra grip and ease of note starting afforded by the coarser hair. A bit of a TB chat on hair: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f2/bow-hair-...-pepper-521106/ Pretty sure this model is now discontinued/updated, this place in USA has what looks like the thing at USD550 plus shipping and any import taxes. Including a nice lined case, I'm looking for £330. Only selling it as I'm now totally into german style bows and this one sits, forlorn, on the sidelines! ...and really, when it comes to it, you're getting into double bass - if that means a change of car then it's well worth it. Welcome home!
Thanks for that, more or less confirmed my thoughts/fears about the neos so it looks like Delta's it is. Just whipped the knackered cone this morning and it's completely fried and the cone won't move! It's next door neighbour is on the way out too as it's squeaking when moved so it looks like four new deltas it is! Anybody got any tips about breaking new cones in?
How about a solid stint of gigs over, say six weeks or so? Should do the trick!
