  7. a quick tech question for anyone who may know to practice making an amp i have purchased the vellermann 200w power amp kit and i am gonna use it on the wifes electric piano to save her plugging it into my hifi. has anyone built one of these before. going by the plans i can add a volume control to the input and adjust the gain from an onboard pot, but are there any other mods that can be done like adding a treble control and such like????
  8. have any of you got a recommendation for a set of plans to build a solid state bass amp. i want to have a go making one for a bit of fun as it will make a change from building lighting control circuits for the pikeys and their fairground rides cheers pob

  13. it is actually a nice looking bass all joking aside is the jack plug mounted differently to most (i noticed in the guitar shop you had to pull the plug down to remove it ) i suppose it stops unwarranted noise cessation when you tread on the cable

  16. no dont... ive been muddling along with some books and really finding it hard. i read a thread on here earlier today saying to play music in the background so i tried it this morning using one of the funk samples. after a few slow starts i remembered where the fingers go and finally got the metronome from 80 to 120bpm. whilst it is probably not what the samples are for it helped me. oh and i am not moving like an automaton now either the head is bobbing and the foot is tapping many thanks off now to thank the sample poster

  24. Is there any difference between a lefty or the other type when setting up a bass. When i purchased the bass on here the strings had been lowered, as i have now started learning i am getting a lot of problems with them hitting the other frets. A shop local to me in port talbot wanted 20 quid just to plug it in and listen. The only reason i ask is because other left hand specific items i own have different set-up and adjusting techniques compared to the other type cheers jamie
