1. Hi I'm selling my practice amp which I bought new about three years ago. It's a Hartke A25 - nice and sturdy, 25 Watts, 8" Aluminium speaker, limiter, CD Input etc etc more info at http://www.samsontec...ies-combos/a25/ - piccys to follow The input jack is a little loose (in that it moves sideways a bit) but all works fine. I've mainly used it at home, and taken it out for a couple of acoustic gigs and rehearsals over the years. Looking for £50 - pick up from Maidenhead. If you want it shipped, I'll add on whatever that costs cheers Dave
2. Long day at the show yesterday - was in the queue for 9:45 and stayed form Paul Turner - no wonder I feel a shade tired! I wonder how many people there are NOT BCers? Met some just chatting to people in the queues for the masterclasses. I went to the exhibition for the first hour (before the noise really started) - definately the best time for a chat and looking at some gear - GK MB112 is light enough to carry all the way from the Show to the Mulit-Story Car Park out back (had to get up early today to smuggle it into the house :-) I mainly went for the Masterclasses and live performances - which were all really good and worthwhile - saw Yolanda Charles, Jay Darwish, Doug Wimbish, Paul Turner and TM Stevens, whose session was soooo good. Not a bad listening and learning experience for one day!
3. First bass owned: Ibanez, can't remember the model number, a single pickup active,1980 model Go-to bass: Fender USA Jazz deluxe Your bass: Fender USA Jazz deluxe But if you'd have asked a year ago the last answer would have been a Warwick ....
4. Hi If you are still thinking of an ME 50B, I have one that I am thinking of selling as I don't use it much Cheers Dave
5. Hi just bought Matt's EBS Unichorus pedal - great guy to deal with, really good communications, friendly, quick delivery - what more can I say! Dave

7. Hi Bob do you still have these tuners for sale? If so, interested to know what it was they didn't fit - I want them to upgrade a Squier VMJ cheers Dave

9.
Watched Dave Marks, ... and Mark King and for my money Dave Marks was the best by far, worth the price of entry on his own. Bloody good work Dave, I'll definitely be attending one of your rhythm matters seminars when you come round my neck of the woods again!
Dave Marks session get's my vote too - really interesting, thought provoking and insightfull - and all so early in the morning! Next time, I must remember to bring ear plugs when looking at gear!
10. I have one of these (black, maple neck) from 78 (so I guess it's pretty much the same) and it is gorgeous! Good luck with the sale.
11.
i've not heard of the performer - have you got any pics ?
You're right - me neither!! For some reason I thought Spector but typed Status - Doh!
12. Hi I am looking to sell me Spector Performer 4 string bass, with passive EMG pickups. It's been my backup for a while but now rarely gets played at all, and I need the space, so it seems about time to let another BCer have some time with it! Standard apart from the numbered volume knobs I added. It's in pretty good condition (a few minor marks in it here and there). Looking for around £150 for it. Some photos Dave
13. Hi is the Shuttle still available? cheers Dave
14. A very interesting thread! I've played bass for years, always by ear, in pop and rock bands, and it has been fine. But I have decided that the time has come to stretch myself, so I had my first rehearsal with a jazz band this week, and that was certainly challenging! I can read a bit, but only very slowly (think of 4 year old with Janet and John book ...) I could follow the charts, but as someone said, to do that well, you need a full understanding of the genre and the chords etc.. I guess I got away with it (up to a point) as they didn't ask me to leave, but it's definately time to start studying! Dave
15.
Yep the guys are holding auditions on Sunday in Andover, I'm barred..... Generally we don't rehearse as the set is nailed, most of the guys are a distance South and West of you though!
Thought that might be the case, from the gigs listed on the website - probably a touch too far!
16. Hi are you still looking for a replacement? Whereabouts do you rehearse? cheers Dave
17. Hi Carl are you still looking for a bass player> cheers Dave
18.
Take it to Joe White in Farnborough. He'll make you a new one.
Thanks - I'll give him a try!
19. Hi after owning the Stagg Upright for about 18 months, I got it out to play it last night and half of the nut flew off! Any idea where I can get a replacement nut, and what is involved in removing the remains of the old one and fitting the new one. I'm lousy at DIY, so should I be looking to get help! cheers Dave
20. Hi Stagg EUB Folks I sometimes find that the endpin of my Stagg resonants and buzzes a bit and I have to keep adjusting it sightly till it stops. Anyone else get this? Does anyone know if the endpin can come out, (I can't figure out how!) as maybe I could put in some padding cheers Dave
