  1. Both my basses are 5 string, but I consider 4 as the standard, I choose to play 5's as I like to have the option of varying some of the riffs I play with some lower notes, I was probably inspired to do thos by listening to the likes of Stuart sender on tracks like space cowboy! Got a gig in November with aziz ibrahim, he who replaced john squire in the stone roses and wrote a fair amount of ian browns first solo album. He's playing on two of our songs and we're also doing two of his tracks, corpses and my star, both of which go down beyond E. No problem on my 5, but I am told he will insist I play it on a 4 strin p bass, detuned, cos that's what sounds right! Tony

  5. I think if you search for envelope filters you'll find plenty of opinions on all the above filters, but maybe not the enigma For what its worth, from that list, I would pop for the EBS bass IQ, also consider a Boomstick bottom feeder or tonefactor equivalent. The Maxon filter is highly rated but never tried one. Moog filter is good, can use exp' pedals, but needs to be in a loop cos it is a tone sucker A vintage mutron or Love tone Meatball are probably two of the most desirable out there As for the enigma, it sounds intresting, looks like they ran it with distortion on all the way thru the video, would have been good to hear the clean sound! 6. Bump on the OC2, meatball and llopppoppoooooer Tony
  7. I know run pro tools with a G5, so have some PC parts for sale, these made up my PC DAW The parts are a few years old, but still work well, at the time, I spent many hours searching various parts of the www to find what most would consider to be the most ideal set up, mobo, processor etc, this PC was the result There are a lot of parts here and I would rather see it go as one Asus A8V mobo Processor (intel pentium ? need to check) Several sticks of RAM (Size ? need to check) Various cables and fittings for extra USB ports for the Mobo D-link wireless card Network card (ethernet) 4xUSB socket card Yamaha SCSI CD writer (front is a bit dirty) Hard Drive (Size ? need to check) Plus any other bits I can find to add to this lot I also have an unused Lightscribe DVD writer (silver) - £25 Used Lightscribe DVD writer (cream) £20 Various wireless mouse and keyboards - need to sort these out and see whats there, all Logitech Will update this some time today Tony £50 for the lot

We always do MC5 Looking at You in our own set though, cool tune and most poeple ask, "MC5 who are they?" Also have another playlist with our own demo tracks on T

  15. Hi Played a gig on Saurday, we play mostly original stuff, but chucked a few covers in for this one and two Who tracks we kind of glued together worked well as the set opener. The guitarist looped through the start of Baba Oreiley, building it up with 2 seperate loops, we then hit the F C B flat section, held the F on the last time, the guitarist sent the first loop into reverse, then after a pause on this the drummer counted into My generation, which is a big tempo shift and from the on we belted thru My Generation, even got a big cheer as I nailed the four bass solo sections. It worked suprisingly well, big fat chords to start with, then big tempo shift into my Generation! Tony (still wrecked from a crazy weekend)
