    I was in a band with a guy like that, middle if gig ‘Slap that bass Mr Bassman’. He got a look of complete indifference as I continued to play pizz as I had the whole gig. I didn’t offer my services again. All joking aside that, you’re not wrong mentioning risk of injury in picking up a new technique, anything from blisters to tendinitis, quite minor unless you’re an upright player 👍

    Frankly @Linus27 I’d simply buy a replacement fretted neck and put it on that bass for however long is necessary. It’s a crap time to be selling a bass and you may regret letting that beauty go 👍

    I'm guessing that some if it is room acoustics, sound near the stage - backline and monitors - could be very different to that elsewhere?

    I suspect the OP would prefer you said it's all in the bass mate But wow, that is such an iconic instrument. There's been a lot of talk round these parts about the next big wave of collectable vintage, and I suspect that these late 70's black/black/maple models are going to rocket in the same way as the early 70's 3TSB/tort.rosewood models have (amazing the difference in price represented by 3-4 years in some cases, and it's as often assumed purely a quality issue, I've played some utter dogs from the early 70's). If you can afford to keep it @DaveSetchfield, keep it mate, going on that video, you and it get on quite well 👍

    That is an upside of having both, when I'm not using an Apollo or Satellite I tend to run into processing problems very quickly
