  1. But all bassists need amps, tend to own more than one, and tend to switch between them more than is needed, i.e., by novelty and choice not necessity. I might be in the minority but I don't know many bass players who use small pedals these days, many have moved to products like Helix etc. I think with BF brand association, an amp would have made more sense. Time will tell.
  2. Agreed, Alex did a great job or side tracking what would have been a decent thread and probably good PR for him
  3. What a silly post, people were objecting to Alex coming on as he did, you go and slap your missus as you put it, I'll just object when a manufacturer is rude to his customers who were having a pretty normal discussion.
  4. Did you mean to suggest that you haven't played though it Stew?
  5. Lucky it's not a drum FX, there'd be some real problems in user terminology
  6. Let's be clear about this, it WAS about the Machinist until Alex waded in, so how about you rewrite that as 'Alex, this thread is about the Machinist"?
  7. Well, it could be read as such given his earlier "screw the customer" approach
  8. And you really think saying what you said will help? Everyone is in the same boat at present Alex, most of us have kids and sleepless nights about where the next salary check is coming from, but I don't see other manufacturers coming on here slagging off what was actually a set of largely constructive comments?
  9. I fixed the corner piece myself BTW so it wont rip your hand apart now
  10. None if us have to deal with stinky poo at present do we.
  11. No, it was a flipping big cut in my finger - which stopped me playing for a while - from a very sharp and protruding corner piece on my Super Twin which was clearly rushed out of the factory without undergoing decent QC. Alex really didn't appear to give a flip to be honest. I put it down to a rare example of poor QC and he tried to excuse it on some other personal grounds, but all the same, I get the sense that he doesn't warrant my support any more after the above. We all made some very positive comments, and even if we didn't as Oscar said "The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about" Anyone want to buy a Super Twin cheap EDIT I've posted information on the above here
  12. I will also check back through my comms with you Alex and take some time later to recount how badly you dealt with a previous complaint from me, which I decided to to make public then but now will.
  13. The most pathetic comment I have EVER heard from a business. EVER. You just cost yourself Alex.
  14. Good post, I don't really know Darkglass, but in posting earlier I was thinking about PJB; ground breaking cab design, but - IMO - nothing hugely special or game-changing in terms of amps. Yet the amps have been hugely successful, and of course PJB make some very very popular combos. Which seemed to me to have been the obvious next step for BF also. Ground-breaking cabs + decent heads = market leading combo?
  15. Folks I really don't want to sell this on eBay, so I'm happy to trade or PX for something music related, anything from an instrument through to studio gear through to hifi, WHYG? Cheers Chris
  16. Good post, if I were a pedant - which I am - I'd argue that the bass guitar does have a natural sound, it's just very quiet
  17. Good post, although I would have thought that BF have sufficient brand loyalty now to not have needed to produce a game-changing amp, just a good amp (which I guess is what many amp manufacturers do in reverse, game-changing amps, standard cabs)? I suspect a reliable and powerful unit styled to match their cabs would sell on brand power and aesthetics alone?
  18. Noble would of course say that
  19. Fair points, especially the use with FRFR. Seems risky however given that FRFR is still quite niche, boxes are an equally crowded marketplace as amps, and this is not a cheap unit. I certainly wish them all the best, my BF cab is awesome, but still think an amp would have been a better first step
  20. Yep, I know, that’s not what I’m hearing, definitely some PP on there. No problem, sounds great, but I don’t buy the pure P-Bass tone thing here
  21. Yep, I was expecting a PJB-esque horizon defining piece of tech, not, well, whatever the flip this is (I’m still not sure to be honest, despite their having emailed me telling me how good it is).
  22. Can't help feeling a strong sense of disappointment that their first venture away from cabs is this? Guess they have their reasons
  23. I suddenly feel like I've come to the wrong forum
  24. Is it easier to get a tube amp?
  25. So it’s a fuzz box with 10 controls an three switches?
