1. I bought a Warwick Corvette off Ebay. The person had it down as a Watkins bass and nobody was interested. Looking at the photos it was obvious it was a Warwick and I put in a bid. Got it for £150. Bargain ! Played really nicely too.
 2. I reckon he should go on stage wearing Lycra a la Steve Harris. That'd make people sit up and take notice of him …. *shudders*
 3. LOL! at them prices.

 5.
You see, this is why Geezer's a total boss
He's the reason I still play the bass now. Probably one of the most underrated bass players of all time. Proper football fan too (before it was fashionable)... even if its Villa. F*ckin' 'ave some geez..
 6. I'll open up with this stormer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01zIS6oYqec&feature=share
 7. All swap instruments and play to the worst of your ability. When they question you about it ... just shrug and say "well me old mucker .. ya gets what ya pays for, dontcha ? "

 9. It looks like hell on Earth ! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2130366/The-Flying-Shuttle-Bolton-Britains-toughest-pub-staff-scared-time.html
 10. They're not actually made by Kent Armstrong, they are a Kent Armstrong design made by "Sky Pickups" in Korea - hence the cheap price. Proper Kent Armstrong pickups are just as expensive as Barts and SDs, sometimes more so. They're good pickups all the same - I have a set of single coil Jazz vintage hot pickups in one of my basses and used to have a P bass with the vintage hot p-bass pickups in. That gave a real poweful output and a superb precision sound.
 11.
I think that a lot of people can't get past the fact that he is a complete prat and that his songs are awful...! However, his playing is undoubtedly awesome!
A technically superb player undoubtedly. But I think the words, feel, soul, lack of and an uncanny knack to cultivate an ego the size of an aircraft hanger just doesn't make me warm to him one tiny iota.
 12. Always been my amp of choice - I've tried some other rigs but always find myself coming back to Trace Elliot. Great for all styles of music, reliable and a great sound too - especially the early stuff. When they first came out they knocked spots off anything on the market IMO. The only other amp I'd consider would be an Ampeg SVT of some description.
 13.
When you meet a drummer and if they say they like Bonham and/or Tony Thompson. you're usually onto a good thing.
And when you hear a guitarist saying "I'm a huge Malsteem fan" its time to boot him up the 'arris and get the hell out of the gaff.
 14. http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/17673948 Be interesting to see how U.S. and U.K. copyright laws work in this instance. I think that the damages being sought by the yanks are optimistic to say the least. I wonder if they'll be extradited
 15. Hasn't this always been the way with music though ? Take for example this lot: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lieutenant_Pigeon One number one single, one single at 17 in the charts. One of their mum's used to play piano and they practiced in their front room. Talent doesn't come in to it mate. Its all subjective.
 16. Someone just sold one on here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/28558-trace-elliot-gp7sm200-1153-rig-sold-pending/ Might want to speak to them about it.
 17. Sad news indeed. RIP fella.
 18. I saw them in 1983 at the old Marquee on London when Stuart Morrow was playing bass for them. Not really my cup of tea but it'd be a good gig to get. They play all over the place.
 19.
If so, we have enough suggestions in this thread for a 10-minute set - how shall we fill the other 50?
Do what my singer's old band did back in the early 80s when they were booked for a 40 minute slot at the Skunx Club in Islington. They only had three songs so he came up with the brilliant plan of starting a fight after the third song. It worked like a charm and there was a full scale riot in the place with the police being called. Gig was cancelled and they got away with their credibility (partially) intact.
 20.
Jingle jangle Un-f***ing-believable last minute let off
Oh yes, some strange sights. I was on a bus going back to the station and the driver said he wasn't going to let me off the bus because "... I hate southerners". Ha ha... classic. I think he was from Huddersfield. Bless 'im. It was a bit of a let off but I think it was a fair result all round. As usual Colin W*nker was moaning about the ref afterwards/.
 21.
It was great in its day though. I remember when it came out , to actually see someone explaining this weird concept of "thumping" was GREAT ! Also seeing the Jeff Berlin one as well was an eye opener , colutia on drums , gambale on guitar . Great memories .
and that two-bob clown in a kilt too... f***in' ada.. !
 22.
Look at all these great Anal **** tracks the punters are missing
Philisteines, that's what I call them. I was up in Leeds last week for the West Ham game. That's a strange old place. The ghost of Jimmy Saville was spotted on more than one occasion.
 23.
I was thinking about it today....and I'm almost certain my middle aged angst completly trumps teenage angst. I wanted to go out and write an EMO album entitle...Teenagers, you don't have a clue what life has in store for you.
If you listen to most Blood For Blood songs I think they'll trump any angst anyone has - anywhere.
We don't get any more requests for Anal **** on the wedding circuit anymore.
An, Anal C**t. Them of the "Hitler Was a Sensitive Man" fame.
 24.
Ahem, Johnny Thunders, Chinese Rocks. Oh yes.
Now that is a great track
 25. Stupid question but are these passive or active monitors ?
