A few weeks back I decided to look in to Alice In Chains bass lines and it's been quite a black hole that I can't get out of. Mike Starr and Mike Inez both had a lot of amazing bass lines. Rotten Apple has to be my favourite so far. Amazing riff and very repetitive but it breaks off in to some amazing grooves. Then there's that bass tone

The Bristol branch moved recently to a location with no parking. The basses are now in the same room as the guitars. When I wanted to try a couple US P basses, they gave me a barely audible amp right next to some old bloke playing a guitar through a much louder amp. I turned up the bass amp so I could just about hear it and the salesman immediately told me to turn it back down. As I got up to leave salesman asked if I liked the instrument, I told him I didn't know since I couldn't bloody hear it

Thanks. That's a lot of info but I think it all makes sense in my swede. Which tube preamp are you using?

Would any 350w + power amp do the job or is there such a thing as a bass power amp?

Last night I ran the Le Bass preamp in to the Orange effects return and it sounded so much better than running it in to the front end of the Orange. Maybe what I really need is just a power amp rather than a bass amp
