  1. Communication breakdown - Zeppelin. I don't like Zeppelin. Is it OK to admit that?
  2. Long slow goodbye - Queens Of The Stone Age & Alain Johannes
  3. Farting with a Walkman on - Bloodhound Gang
  4. Killing time - HED(Pe) Someone clearly had some time to kill!
  5. You mean it had an ashtray AND a driver seat headrest??? That's some serious luxury.
  6. People do pay crazy money for old crap. Just look at the value of Austin Allegro's, up to £10k for a really tidy one and they were terrible cars.
  7. This morning it's a bit of post punk by Savages. A great band who unfortunately split after only a couple albums.
  8. I didn't know who he is so googled him. In a Google image search, there aren't any pictures of him playing a black jazz bass. He may have owned it but was it something he used as a shelf in the shed and didn't actually play?
  9. I love the look of it. If I had the spare cash I'd buy it exactly as it is. I like that you can see the age and see its worked hard and most importantly, it's real wear and age rather than a new one attacked with sandpaper.
  10. Different basses can have different string length, especially if they have different tuner layout.
  11. That's pretty decent. I love the Dingwall, I wouldn't have thought of one of them for a Sabbath tribute but it sounds great. My favourite Sabbath song as well.
  12. I think it's just a case of scrolling through. There's a lovely Sterling Ray34 in there for £500 😉
  13. I just bought quite a nice Mexican P bass for £400. I'd take that over this Squier any time and I have a similarly upgraded Squier P bass
  14. Says super low action, photos show string a mile from the fretboard. All that talk of perfect setup is b*****s. One person's setup perfection is another person's setup hell. Plays any genre is my favourite bit. Everyone knows you need a jazz bass for jazz, a Dingwall for metal, a Rickenbacker for indie, a precision for funk and anything out of a skip for punk.
  15. I agree. He's incredibly talented but I wonder how he'd actually get on in a band where its not just about him. Would he know where to leave space? Could he hold solid timing and pick every note consistently like Adam Devonshire in Idles? I'm fairly certain he'd be better than me in every aspect of playing though.
  16. On a similar subject, a lot of people seem to assume that a professional bassist who plays a very simple part in all their songs has no talent. It may be that they have the ability to play something far more technical but the songs are better without it. I'm fairly sure someone like Jay from Bad Religion who has been playing simple root note parts for 42 years has learnt to play a few other things off the clock and is probably extremely competent.
  17. Was the bass video Charles Bertrand (something like that)? His speciality seems to be videos with a title like "When you have 20 seconds to audition for Green Day" and then plays some million note a second tap and slap fest which is far as possible from their actual bass style.
  18. There's power in a union - Billy Bragg I could have picked several other Bragg songs with union in the title. Bloody commie (not really)
