  1. My bathroom scales say it's 4kg although the Internet suggests it should be 4.5kg
  2. This is now sold Sterling by Musicman Ray34 Stingray bass in honey burst finish. Really excellent condition. Plays beautifully. Super punchy stingray tones. Strings are a few weeks old Rotosound. Ash body Maple neck Rosewood fretboard Alnico humbucker pickup 3 band active eq 3 ply white perloid pickguard Luminlay side fret markers Possible exchange/px for a Mexican Fender P bass or similar Collection only but happy for you to send a courier and I'll package it up.
  3. All about the bass - Some irritating American girl
  4. I went to Brizzle on Sunday and couldn't find anywhere to park on a street that didn't have double yellow lines. The nearest car park was a long walk from where I wanted to go. It's hardly surprising everyone does their shopping online.
  5. Since Bath has gone all anti car I just don't go there any more. It costs a fortune to park, the traffic is terrible and if you so much as fart out of key you'll get a fine of twelfty million pounds.
  6. I have had a SUB Ray 5. It's pretty muddy on the low B string. I upgraded the preamp to a Darkglass tone capsule which helped a lot but still not amazing. I replaced it with a Ray35 which for not much more money used was a HUGE amount better, really nice bass. I sold mine for £450 recently.
  7. The guitarist sounds like a confused jam session guitarist
  8. Oh yeah, want a fight about it? I get what you're saying and maybe we need to discuss it as a band. Unfortunately, the recording experience with my last band was no fun at all which has put me off a bit.
  9. I bought one for my daughter and regretted it. The amp models kind of sound a bit roughly vaguely maybe a little like the real thing but a bit ropey. The effects are on or off with no real adjustment and you can't stack them or adjust tgem and running effects pedals in front of it just sounds like fried buttholes.
  10. We don't really intend to do any further recording or sell music. This project is just about having some fun and playing some gigs. I guess it's not difficult to get some guitars recorded at home, drums will be a bit more tricky
  11. We've decided as a band that it's time to record a demo to get some gigs booked. We're an all originals doom band so we're loud and dirty so there's some discussion about whether to record separate tracks or do live recordings. I like the live idea. Will the less polished sound be a disadvantage or advantage for getting bookings?
  12. I'd also recommend used. It has the advantage that you can sell it on when you're done and probably not lose anything. Squier Jazz/Precision bass or Ibanez SR300 would be my choice with an old Peavey or Ashdown amp.
  13. I particularly enjoyed the thinness of tone from their instruments and the drummer who will never be accused of over playing
  14. I've never heard of Khrangbin or whatever it is so I thought I'll check them out on the you tube. Holy crap they're dull. The beigeness was far worse than @Leonard Smalls suggested. Even their instruments are beige
  15. Well that's a shame. Good luck with your sale. It's a great looking bass amp s bargain
  16. Nicole was with them when I saw them. She was pretty decent. I guess he recruits female bassists for the backing vocals. Same case with Pixies I guess.
  17. I missed your comment. I kind of gave up on them around the same time. I saw them at Glastonbury in about 2015 and saw too much of Billy's gut in his I'll fitting shirt. It was like watching a second rate Smashing Pumpkins tribute band.
  18. No mention of D'Arcy Wertzky yet? Sadly not much talent these days but part of Smashing Pumpkins when they were good.
  19. Is it a definite no to posting? As a soft southerner, it's far too far to collect otherwise I'd have it.
  20. You're too late. It's sold to the bassist in a well known heavy rock band
  21. Looks like the SB1 is a bit over budget. £1200 seems to be very bottom end price.
