  1. Very nice amp. I wish I still had my Trace Elliot, it sounded great but because I'm a loud hooligan, I kept running 90% volume and blowing it up. Not so nice to carry though!
  2. That's the worst sort of tone
  3. Just got in from tonight's gig. We had a 30 minute opening set for punk / metal crossover legends Hellbastard. I struggled with nerves a bit tonight, I think the thick smoke didn't help. I couldn't see the audience so didn't know how they were reacting. I had a couple technical issues. I think my compressor died and just gave me a horrible noise. Then I stood on my lead and pulled it out. We survived and had a lot of positive comments. A couple local bands said they'd like to play with us and the promoter wants to book as again so we must have sounded alright. Watching Hellbastard afterwards was just brilliant. They are absolutely relentless, their drummer is an absolute beast. They were heavy, tight and fast and a nice bunch of blokes and they were loud. As a bonus, It was walking distance from home do I could have a few adult beverages.
  4. Heart shaped box- Nirvana
  5. I think for me the picking style is much less a part of my sound. I play some songs with a pick and some without depending on how I prefer to play, I hit pretty hard with both so attack is pretty much the same.
  6. My most important part of my sound is my Two Notes Le Bass preamp. I run it in to my effects return to bypass the Orange preamp. It gives me such a punchy and big sound.
  7. I like the Andertons "sound like xxx on a budget" with Cici & Dave Simpson. They're both awesome musicians and entertaining. Anything with Rob Chapman I have to skip, I can't stand him and his massive ego.
  8. Waiting Room - Fugazi The greatest ever simple bass riff
  9. Can I take the £300 to the casino around the corner and win a grand? I'll take a Cali76 compressor. Justin Chancellor signature fuzz wah and Two Notes Le Bass preamp. Thanks for your understanding.
  10. Today I was checking out bands announced for Arctangent festival (my metal fest of choice) and one of them was Bossk. Not exactly easy listening but holy crap they're good. Crushingly heavy but with subtleties, grooves and interesting rhythms.
  11. I'm a bit disappointed no one has mentioned either the fart pedal or the little tooter. https://thefartpedal.com/
  12. Just the Cali compact is over £300. You'll have to do some shoplifting
  13. I like to show a bit of cleavage, keep the fans happy.
  14. 21 Seconds - So Solid Crew Thank Buddha their musical career was very short
  15. A top quality preamp is my essential pedal. At the moment I use a Two Note Le Bass but that's been discontinued so I'll take the Two Notes Revolt and invest the £1 change in a second had copy of Viz
  16. Class War - Wisdom in Chains
  17. His pick storage solution made his ears bleed. That doesn't seem practical. I would assume inside the carcass of a goat sacrificed to the dark lord
  18. I've only broken one so far, a 0.88mm Dunlop Tortex split straight up the middle. I think that must have been faulty.
  19. Beauty School - Deftones
  20. I do also use 1mm picks. I mostly play around the bridge pickup and get a bit lively at times, I'd probably hit them all on to the floor. I've also not got a pick guard on my Ibanez
  21. What's your preferred emergency pick storage for gigging? I'm not sure where to keep one or two for when I drop or break one
  22. @JRBass Top bloke. Easy to deal with. Nice bloke. Showed up on time. No issues. I hope you enjoy the P bass
  23. Cop Killer - Body Count
  24. That looks nice. It looks like it might be a step or two up from the SR300. I'd quite like an SRMS800 next to go with my SRMS805 but before I get that I want to upgrade the 805 preamp to a Darkglass tone capsule.
  25. Learning to swim - The Skints
