1.
Right, we've all seen the rigs already owned by many of us, so now lets see the rigs we would all like to own, both amps AND basses lol. I reckon that if people can be bothered, could be interesting lol I'll start with mine. Amp-wise, this 36x10 monster Admit it, if you saw it, you would have a go lol. Although i dont think it would fit in my local venue , or that anyone in general, not just my band would appreciate me using that within about 10 miles of civilization And for the bass, the Spector NS-5XL in green lol (I assume at this point Cetera will jump in lol) Zach
Was that the Ampeg cab made for the guy from Dokken many moons ago (showing my age and musical roots here ) or is that a recent pic?
2. I may be wrong but... drop 'Marcus' a PM as I'm sure he got a couple of the DR cabs off Robbie recently and (though I may be confusing it with his Aguilar 4x10) he may be able to give some insight as he has quite a bit of experience with various 4x10s
3. Dear OP I can cure your GAS(full-stop) I can put you onto someone selling Me'shell N'degeocello's Celinder bass Surely that would stop your 'rainbow chasing' antics Regards Mr Hunt <edit to stick in a smiley as I am being genuine and not being an ars*>
4. I don't know... I go away on my Jollies and where has all the love gone? There are two sides to all of this but occasionally people do get steamed up and get a 'cob on' (as my wife has been wont to direct at me over the last 10 days or so ) over tense things like spending/receiving monies. Just chill out, what goes around comes around. F*ck people around on deals and you will be f*cked around on deals... believe me it will happen. I have ALWAYS tried to be fair with people and by and large people have reciprocated (cheers MB, I picked the envelope stuffed full of dosh that you squeezed through my letter box while I was away... didn't realise £1 notes were still in circulation when we struck that deal ) but buying/selling shouldn't be the 'be all and end all' of BC. Let my holiday chillness wash over everyone... or I'll kick your f*ckin head in
5.
Gunslinger? Gawd, it's a small world. Bliddy good band that was, I still have some demos somewhere....
I got given a bunch of demos prior to joining (may still have them somewhere), would you likely be playing on them? Actually... that was so long ago that the music is fashionable again
6. 3... 4... either way it's a piece of pants that needs fixing
7.
Wey aye, it just needs a gook howk to straighten the neck. It's a Fender thing....
It would appear we share a former band Ed... I played with Stiddy and the lads until he did off for better things
8.
Despite my previous statement about Basschatters not being the eBay Police, I admit I reported the listing too.
You can now wear your 'eBay Police' sheriff's badge with pride
9.
What happened to the EBay listing? I spotted it the other day & it had a few days to run but it seems to have disappeared!
Someone probably read your OP and thought 'I'll have that, thank you very much' I'm 'semi' kidding, but it's always a risk when you ask a question on an open forum like this as there are likely to be an awful lot of folk that are quite prepared to dive in if the opportunity arises. In fact they may never actually post... just sit and watch
10. It's a 3 bolt Fender FFS... all it needs is a firm pull the other way and it'll be c*ck on! Until you knock it the other way of course Stuff like that is easily enough fixable by a competent DIYer or a straightforward job for a professional but factor in the hassle when setting your budget.
11.
Hi Is the Lakland this US model? Cheers
Price would suggest Skyline... and a quick skeg of the headstock confirms that it is indeed so
12. Oddly enough when I contacted the seller I was quite open and positive and I gave him/her the benefit of the doubt but simply pointed out that there were a few 'issues' with the bass and its description and that it may well save him/her any future grief retaliation from a potential buyer if they could answer a few simple questions and maybe take a pic or two of a few salient features. I'd like to think I approached the whole matter with the kind of sensitivity that I'd want someone to do if it were my parent selling something for me. I doubt eBay would have pulled it due to the fact that it may not have been 100% Fender... there must have been some other issue maybe a hacked account.
13. I touched a raw nerve when i asked if she would mind posting her response to my question about the bass "So you would appreciate me posting the fact that IN YOUR OPINION the bass is not a Fender. This wouldn't be so you can bid on it and get it at a fraction of it's worth would it? I have described the bass as accurately as possible and included large close up pictures so that those interested in it can bid what it is worth to them. My son bought it about 20 years ago in its present condition for about £500 but never got it restored. I trust this answers your questions" It didn't actually answer my question as it happens, as I never said it wasn't a Fender but I guess the fact that it was pulled did answer a few questions!
14. I've asked if the seller would post my 'concern' that the bass may not be a Fender, this would be to offset the claim that it is worth at least £1500! Time will tell.
15.
You might have to go clothes shopping - France isn't great for guitar shops. All the ones I've ever been into seem to have a load of copies and very little in the way of basses. No wonder their music's rubbish! Can't you persuade her that New York's really cheap at the moment? That way you could bring a little something home for yourself at $2 to the £1.
Tell me about it! Unfortunately SWMBO doesn't do flying so the car and ferry are pretty much our mode of holiday transport.
16. OK so let's widen this French thing out a bit I'm near Avignon in the S of France and I'm travelling back to the UK up along the Rhone valley road system later this week... who has something for me to buy and/or somewhere to go (long shot I know)?
17. Just to add flesh to the numerous reasons it may be a scam... the seller ended the listing early to the highest bidder at that time; this is something that does happen but TBH not something that you'd normally do with a bass listing!
18. Before you lash out a wedge on new pups and pre be aware that sometimes these mods may well not have any impact on the tone and if they do it may well just be a 'different' tone, not better/not worse! You can debate till the cows come home to what degree the constituent parts of a bass make the tone of that instrument but ultimately the woods and construction must have a bearing so your bass may well just sound like 'your bass' regardless of electrics.
19.
You have too many Warwicks anyway, mate! (Cheers from Samuel, formerly The Swedish Owl @ warwick forum)
Have you got 'this' one yet then?
20.
+1 Sold mine for £750 and i was giving it away.... !! This should be sold by end of play today !! Warwickhunt's on holiday too..... he'll be gutted !!! Good Luck fella.... ATB Mark
I'm still watching though Seriously bad timing for me though as I have just committed to buying another bass otherwise I would have taken this just for the hell of it (at that price it is silly money). I still have a SSII and I'd not sell it for a penny under £1200! There may well have been a couple of SC/REVERB basses sold at a cut-price but this is still a cracking price.
21.
does anyone know what straplocks i need to fit my sterling? i have schaller ones but they dont fit. cheerz
Are you sure that they are locking pins that you have fitted? Only reason I ask is that I had a Sterling which I thought had a locking system but it turns out that they were the standard strap buttons that just happened to look like locking pins Check out the EB forum but I'm sure that if this does have locking pins and they were fitted from new, then EB basses have their own sized fittings.
22. One of her previous sales was a 'breast pump'... the mind boggles as to what you got free with that one
23. Good luck and remember to drink plenty fluids... maybe I should rephrase that; drink plenty water (as opposed to alcohol)
24. As a result of loaning the guitarist from my latest musical project my Headrush, we now have a pair of them incorporated into our act! Fun fun fun if we don't get it right
