Pretty much their first overseas instrument was essentially a passive Stringray... You sure? The early OLP "Stingray"s were passive but they were named MM2 / MM3, not SUB... Are YOU sure? IIRC the first overseas instrument was the Japanese Stingray EX (active) which was effectively the USA Stingray assembled overseas, which was 'exactly' a USA Stingray but doesn't have the made in USA legend on it.

I have the same Club bass (in black) and I was pleasantly surprised it could intonate with a little bit of shuffling the whole bridge assembly. As for the controls... set them in the one position that has them switched on and then leave well alone! TBH I've been tempted to just bypass the switches and junk the plate to put in my own plate with just a stacked control for the 2 volumes. I quite like the fact that you have to work with it at volume as your technique can get a good variation on 'that' sound.

As Walshy has said, Dave W is superb BUT... you pay for what you get and if it is a 'cheap' bass you sadly are unlikely to justify a trip to Dave.

For many years I've used BOSS Chorus + Octave pedals, with an EHX Small Stone; latterly using a TC Plethora X5 and the effects were as good as any of these. I'm fairly sure some/many of the effects available on Kemper products are modelled (copied) off known brands. I'm assuming that the interface/rig manager will be the same as on the 'toaster' and you can go in and tweak stuff.

Yes you said it was a 2 x 12 (two 12" speakers) but it is actually 2 x 10 (two 10" speakers).

Decent bass cabs it a 'bit' limiting being 4 ohm 2x10. That cab is actually 175 watts (RMS is the important bit) but it'll still cope with your amp so long as you don't go boosting the lows too much. We've no idea of the situations you'll use it in but many folk manage with these no probs.

It is more unlikely than it is likely... in fact you'd have to be a dingbat to blow it up without noticing it farting and warning you. I'd go so far as to say that it is almost impossible to destroy a 350w (RMS) cab with a TC500 watt amp unless you are really trying.

I'd be hard pushed to decide if Warwick or Musicman had the most baffling range of basses but it just goes to demonstrate you can be a huge multi-million Euro/$ company and still fail to employ someone in marketing with 1 iota of common/musical sense.

Having owned the Profiler 'Toaster' the blurb seems to indicate that this has all of those facilities/rigs etc available and editable via rig manager on your phone/laptop/PC that it has, in which case yes it has a full range of editable FX; it has the usual phasers, octavers, reverbs, ODs, filters etc etc

I think the ohmage and wattage thing is covered but be aware not all cabs are created equal. This pic might look ridiculous but I'm presently testing various rigs and cab combinations. I can tell you that all of these combinations present 4 ohm loads to the amp (the 2x12 cab is 4 ohms, all other single cabs are 8 ohms) and one of these set ups is way louder than the others, while one set up is particularly quiet (no setting changes on the amp). This is all down to sensitivity of the cab(s) and... one of the single speaker cabs is exceptionally clear and carries the top end with more projection. Oh and this little test absolutely destroyed the urban myth that you get more top end from 10's and 15's give you more bass/bottom end!

Pedant alert... my pet peeve (yes if this is the worst, then I have a fine life). Weight = 8.9lb Now is that 8lb 9oz or 8.9lb as in 8lb 14 3/4oz STOP using decimal points in Imperial measurements, they have no place! Carry on, nothing to see here.

K10 not K10.2 so 'luckily' no firmware required.

If it is current/present use then I've just moved from RCF 310s to QSC K10s (mk I). They are used singly as my personal monitor in a loud band and/or as a single/pair in a much quieter 'acoustic' duo (vocals and guitar through them). The RCFs were great little cabs that punched above their weight and were drafted in a few times to supplement a larger PA with RCF 15s. The move to QSC was as a result of the potential that they would be my only reference for bass + band mix. Despite the wattage difference being 350w (RCF) up to 1000w (QSC), there was very little real world difference in perceived volume but the QSCs were all round a more 'musical' tone, especially if you put the 2 side by side and played prog music through them.

The 2 oldest blokes with the most experience in the room, discussing the routing and procedure to get the Kemper to profile an old 15" speaker... it makes me smile.

...and me looking like a mad professor swapping between Thunderfunk/Mesa Boogie and Thunderfunk/Mesa Boogie 'profile'!

I also bought the (cheap as chips) Lekato 5.8GHz as I was tired of my much more expensive 2.4GHz Line 6 unit dropping out! No difference in sound quality (IMHO), 1/6th of the price and no drop out; win/win/win.
