  1. can you tell us more about the general condition of the bass, any dings, knocks, scratches, issues etc? cheers Martin
  2. thats an amazing price, - one too few strings for me but have a bump for a spectacular bargain
  3. lovely bass, if it had 5 strings rather than 6 I'd snap it up in an instant!
  4. wow and double wow - that is very nice!

  6. Just sold a cab to Ian, excellent communications throughout and a pleasure to do business with. Hope your journey home was ok Ian. Cheers Martin
  7. Iv'e not tried a Supertwelve but i used to own a Barefaced Compact and Midget, in my subjective opinion the Berg is warmer sounding (than the Compact/Midget used together) but I'd say it pretty much has a neutral voice, it's certainly not aggressive or mid biased and for rock i do tend to dial in quite a lot of mid range if I'm using my jazz, less so with a Precision. I think they are designed (rather like the Barefaced cabs) to reflect what you put in rather than having a distinct character of their own, but as I say for a given input the Berg seemed to me to have a warm bias so i suspect by comparison to a Supertwelve it may have a more scooped sound. Hope that makes sense.
  8. If i wasn't the wrong end of the country id have this off you in a flash - great cabs!
  9. That's a fantastic price - market must be slow if this doesnt get snapped up

  11. Now with pics! I've shown the underside of the cab so you can see 2 small holes where the tilt back casters were fitted, I'll throw these in if you want them. There are a few scuffs on the underside corner protectors and the cover has obvious signs of wear (no tears or burst seams though) but otherwise the cab is in near mint condition. 12. WITHDRAWN for the moment - used this at the weekend and even though i wont be using it much in the future it's a fab cab to have and doesn't take up much room. Cheers Martin
  13. A very good price and an excellent rig, i had one of these and played some pretty large venues with it. I always thought adding the extension cab massively improved the sound and volume over the combo alone and would say if anyone is looking for a super lightweight 500w rig that will fit in the back of even the smallest car don't hesitate to get this, I highly recommend it. have a bump on me
  14. At that price you could always buy an 8ohm driver to put in it and sell on the 4ohm driver, I don't know what drivers EBS use but it's probably something out of the Eminence stable.
  15. I tried the TH350 with a Berg AE212 (which is a 4ohm load) and a Precision bass at the weekend in a rehearsal - my impression is that with the Berg you need to dial in a fair bit of midrange EQ and back off the bass to cut through the mix, but I've found this with other amps and this cab. I'll hazard a guess that this amp will really sing with a more mid voiced cab in a rock band situation. The band i was playing with is quite loud and with the volume at 12 o'clock it was fine, I didn't think there was an awful lot more headroom after that point so I'd be a bit wary about anything other than small gigs with this. I'd say its easy to get a good tone from the amp and the drive is very usable giving a nice dose of saturation and mild compression. I'll need a few more rehearsals and the like with this before I get a proper feel for it but it's a nice capable little amp.
  16. I'm guessing that's going to be a fantastic rig, super light and super loud! I've just bought a TH350 so I'm looking forward to trying it at the weekend with my Berg.
  17. I use a TC RH750 with a Berg AE212 cab, love 'em both but the AE212 and I suspect most 212's are not that light if you are carrying them upstairs or the like. I wish now that i'd gone for 2 individual 12 cabs as they'd be much easier to move around. I've had barefaced cabs before (midget and compact) and they are truly lightweight!
  18. I'll try and get my thoughts down about it on Monday after i've used it at band volume. Having now had a couple of hours messing with it at home it is really impressing me but it's all about how it works in the band mix at the end of the day... so i'll reserve judgement until I used it in the band.
  19. Yeah I'm hoping the Berg will go well with it too, - as for uncoloured..yeah not sure about that either, from first impressions i'd say it has a warm, even creamy sound but until i crank it up I wouldn't like to speculate, but I'm hoping it will retain it's warm characteristics at volume.
