I remember in the 79 s here in Australia ( I am 58) watching the Sweeney and the Professionals. I love them along with Minder . A couple of years ago a mid day movie they had the Sweeney and Sweeney 2 movies . 1st ting I couldn't help thinking the diffrence between the UK and USA police shows at the time was when in 2nd movie at the start they busted some bank robbers , They and the robbers threw punches and used bats pipes etc .I thought in the States they would have had a big shoot out so different . hence why I like British shows much more than US shows . As I am wrting this I am watching re runs of Midsummer Murders .

All you have is 2 volume pots 1 and 2 pots 3 and 4 do nothing. As you said it was a active bass where it had 4 holes in pickgaurd & output jack in the body of the bass like a Les Paul etc. When it was active it had 1 volume ( master) hole number 1 blend pot so you could have p by itself j by iteslf or a mixture in hole number 2 a stacked pot with treble and bass in hole number 3 and a mid in hole number 4 so the 2 last pots are just hole fillers . Like its been said you could go 2 vol 2 tones or 1 vol 1 tone 1 balance pot and a hole filler

I would go #3 1 st then #2 2nd but this is due to Butter Scotch does nothing for me

Very true I once owned a Greco Rick copy that the original owner was a person with more money than sense bought the bass new played it for about 3 months & put it under his bed for almost 20 years only comming out once a year to basicaly see if it was still there & when under the bed for another year . Untill he found out via a friend I was interested

Only 1 point just like they only run a wire to 1 point on LP / SG guitars etc as the string for say a bridge / stopbar set up will earth them all together

If it was me unknown if the bass has any special parts if not I would look at cost of say selling the body or complete bass vs getting a body & doing what you want to do with it . I presume a Steve Harris sig bass is not going to go up in price like say a 62 p bass etc

Your bass your money IMHO you can do what you want to the bass . Like its been said not like Steve Harris owns it , even if it was the actually bass he owned / used if you own it its your to do what you want to do with it
