SOLD:::Spector Euro 4LX Gloss Black LTD Edition
Eldon Tyrell replied to Dov65's topic in Basses For Sale
The 77 really is amazing. Not only is the neck great but also the DiMarzio pickup has some serious oomph. What a killer sound. I think I mentioned in another thread that it is like a P bass on steroids. Definitely a keeper bass for me. Although, I also said that many times for other basses that are not with me anymore π -

Yes, whoever buys your bass will bag him/herself a great bargain. Very, very tempting (could complement my white Euro) but I really need to get myself a Euro with either the EMG TW soapbar pickups or the Fishman Fluence ones (the Rudy Sarzo model coming in summer/autumn), so that I can replace the neck pickup with the Mike Inez FF Legacy pickup. Have to resist π -
SOLD:::Spector Euro 4LX Gloss Black LTD Edition

I am quite confident that this Euro LTD has solid maple wings. Thomann and Sweetwater have them in stock (black gloss and chrome hardware) and it says "Body: Maple" (Thomann) and "Body Material: North American Maple" (Sweetwater). Sweetwater also has a table that shows that this bass is the only Euro with maple only. The others all have alder bodies and maple/poplar burl tops. https://www.thomann.de/gb/spector_euro_lx_4_sbg.htm?sid=46dba6a2be90dc251a0ba00394f8bf49 https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/EURO4BK--spector-euro4-solid-black-gloss -
SOLD:::Spector Euro 4LX Gloss Black LTD Edition
Eldon Tyrell replied to Dov65's topic in Basses For Sale
I think it is LTD as it is one of the last available Euro LX in black with chrome hardware and solid maple wings. The latest LXs come in black cherry, trans black stain, poplar burl natural and black&blue. The new Euro 4 Classic comes in solid black but with weight-relieved maple wings, gold hardware and the EMG BTS preamp instead of the Tonepump. BD had the LTDs in black and white (4-string and 5-string). They all sold very quickly π -
Wow. Stunning finish π

Now released on YouTube! Cannot wait for his signature bass to be released π

I liked the video. I like Basstheworld in general. Gregor has some humour and the two bassists (Lars and Rene) who normally test gear are amazing (However, Ida in this video was of course great too.) The A4 Ultra Ash itself is on my watchlist. I am looking for a bass with Fishman fluence pickups and the Cort is a contender (I want to replace the neck pickup with the Fishman Fluence Mike Inez Legacy pickup and turn the bass in an AIC bass). The only issue I have, just from an aesthetic point of view, is the headstock design. Not so impressed by it. Looks like a piece got chopped off (maybe after hitting a crash cymbal) π

Yes, definitely worth checking out. I once had a Legend Neck-Thru (NT), maple with bubinga top, matte finish. Looked and sounded great (Aguilar OBP 2 and Aguilar pickups). Great built quality too. Just a bit heavy and the neck was a bit too narrow for my taste. So, I sold it and bought a Euro instead.

Cool stuff. Found it on youtube! Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, to the radio.... Well, it made my wife dance in the living room π I found the bass quite shiny, almost like a mirror. Well, my wife saw it and loved it. Got now permission to get one. So, all good and thank you, 2elliot π

There was a thread on Bacchus basses earlier this month. They look pretty tempting. Must resist π

Good point. That's what I did. Got a Euro LE Mike Starr with solid maple wings (white gloss finish. I think most solid colour (white and black) Euro's have, or at least, had solid maple wings. The other LXs have a slice of walnut in the middle. Same is true for the LTs - Maple/Walnut/Alder) and had a Haz 9V installed. I don't have a NS 2 to compare it to, but I am confident it will be close. Killer tone and a true keeper. I am now trying to "replicate" it somehow for the NS4: Ordered a Forte 4 (with EMG DCX pickups and the Haz 18V. It will have a black stain matte finish and no crown inlays (so, kind of a "no frills" US Spector). Let's see how that will work out (again, I won't have a NS4 to compare it to though)
-
Uhhh, good I did not see those before buying my first Spector, which, ironically, was a white Euro LE π
-
Hmm, never really connected Spector with hair metal. For me it is the sound of Alice in Chains - Mike Starr and Mike Inez, the latter has both a Warwick Streamer I (moon burst finish, now "replicated" in his Fishman Fluence Legacy pickup) as well as a red Spector NS-2 (drop D tuning). Interestingly, he wears the same shirt as Rex Brown π
-
Rex Brown - Legend! Now with Warwick though

Cool stuff. Golden bridge. Nice combination of gold/red/black. It lacks a knob (in comparison to the other photos). Does it have a stacked volume/tone pot?
-
Oh dear. Sorry to hear that. I would send it back.
