  1. I have an Owen Electronics Space Charge Overdrive, they are intended for guitar but Martin can customise the internals to make it bass friendly. I'm so impressed with the unit and Martins work that I think it's a good thing he does not currently offer any other pedals or I'd want the lot 😁
  2. I was also going to recommend you try out the 115 DR DDT's too but dandanbass beat me too it. I also got good results by buying a 5 string pack with a 120 gauge low B and just use the 4 strings I need 120-100-85-65, that kind of thing worked well for C standard and drop C for me (with appropriate neck tinkering of course 🧐)
  3. I had issues with my Darkglass Alpha/Omega 900 amp. The guys at Darkglass have responded to every email and offered to help at every stage. I'm expecting the repaired unit back any day now so lets see..... Best service ever shout out goes to Martin Owen at Owen Electronics. Fantastic work and amazing explanation of the faults found and repair procedure on the pedal he repaired for me.
  4. Very nice! I have the same one and really like it. I always see the JM2's with black hardware though mine came with dark chrome hardware. I prefer the look of the black, I wonder why mine is different? (I think mine is a late model, I bought it new from Thomann in 2007)
  5. Not the most original answer - the Markbass LMIII is a favourite of mine. Such great value as you can grab them for £300 used. I love the clean tone and like how they work with pre-amps/pedals. I certainly am of the opinion that you have have to spend a lot more cash to get anything significantly better (I know this could be said of a lot of sub £500 equipment though)
  6. Hi, can I buy these strings if they are still available please?
  7. Hi, I'd like to buy the tapping exercises book please. Plus posting if that's cool?
  8. Here's my latest set-up 🙂
  9. Some glorious basses on here for sure. Thought I'd add mine to the group. I need an Elwood next 🙂
  10. Hi guys, Lurker here breaking silence to beg for assistance please! Firstly, apologies if this should be in the repair forum. I have owned my A/O amp since April, due to obvious reasons it has not seen use outside of my home and also due to a bike crash/damaged arm I have not been able to play much until recently. The amp seemed fine until last week when out of nowhere I started getting a very unpleasant hum/buzz that comes and goes (as in on rare occasion I turn the amp on and there is no noise, if it makes the hum it stays till the amp is switched off) as well as the amp now makes a nasty pop when the distortion channel is engaged/dis-engaged or the amp is muted/un-muted, it did not do this before. My limited knowledge would suggest a grounding issue though that is strange that this would come out of nowhere. I also had what sounded like an Indian/Bollywood radio station playing through the cab briefly, this went and I have not noticed it since. My previous amp set-up (Hartke LH1000 and HX112, same basses too) was silent at all times plugged into the same socket in the same position in the room. I have tried different cables, cab, basses, rooms in the house, surge protectors, effect pedals/board (T-Rex power supply) plugged in and out. The sound always returns. The popping from the mute/distortion is every time. Anyone heard of this from a DG amp before or have any ideas? Not had an answer from DG themselves or the shop I purchased from. Any and all ideas are much appreciated.
