1. Just remember to not skimp on the cab.
2.
Didn't BG Magazine do a 1x12 shootout with Aggie, Berg, Mesa etc just over a year ago??
Yeah I think they liked the Aguilar the best as it sounded about as good as the Berg, but was cheaper. I think they gave a Zoot cab the value award when it was only slighlty cheaper than the Aguilar they seemed to love.
3.
The only problem with the Big One is its size...it looks quite large. Weight isnt an issue with it, but size might be.
~4" taller than an AE410, ~2" narrower and ~1/2" deeper. Not that much bigger. Just taller really and even then, not by much.
4. Just be ready for a long and perhaps troublesome wait should you order one and not buy one that is in stock from Robbie at RIM. Check out Talkbass, there's been a lot of discussion on the positives and negatives of these cabs over there. Also, you should check out Barefaced as well. Similar sort of thing what with the midrange and all, but in my mind a little bit better designed.
5. Buy a Big One and be done with it
6. I'm not well up on these matters, but is there a reason why you aren't aligning the drivers vertically?
7. It's not really 3600W.
8. Hi again Lojo - I replied to your talkbass thread. I'd look at Barefaced cabs pretty seriously if you are buying new cabs nowadays. They look to be fantastic.
9. I'm going to Newcastle soon and was wondering if there are any decent music shops for bass stuff. Sorry if this is the wrong forum.
10. I've never owned a cab with a cloth grill and these vintage style cabs look great, but are they less protective? When I eventually gather up enough for a Big One I would definitely consider having it 'vintage-ised', but I'm concerned that it would get wrecked easily. So, what have been you're experiences guys?
11. You mentioned Barefaced, but really, if I was to buy a cab nowadays that's what I'd get.
12. Is that just a regular old handle on the top there? Deos that mean there are three handles on Big Ones? Also, is it possible to have, say, swappable grills with a vintage one and a normal one? That would be pretty cool.
13. Would a 500W LMIII be good with a Big One?
14. Wow, 3 Big Ones. You'd probably kill somebody...
15. Are Wal taking orders? Anyone know any details. (sorry for going off topic).
16.
That pic doesn't look like a LMII to me. Not disputing it wont work but that has different knobs, is a different colour and different outputs on the back.
Fair enough. I can't remember where I got that pic and without an LMII I couldn't check. That talkbass thread looks very useful though.
17. They have a jumper on the ICE Power 125ASX2 to switch from 115V to 230V. edit: Found a pic. It even has an ovelayed diagram - wonderful! So, I think that's how it works, but I don't even own one of these. Please point out my mistakes if I'm wrong.
18. Could you make a replica with a MoMark for less money? Hmm...
19. I want to see a vintage Big One.
20. Cool! I want one. ^_^
21. He's already said he's given the link to Nick in this thread before.
22. Yeah, I really liked the Dave Swift interview.
23. I cannot do the up stroke part with my thumb at all. How is it done exactly as I can't grasp it from the videos.
