  1. Terrific sound quality for a room that looks to be devoid of acoustic treatment (excepting the single acoustic panel for the drummer)!
  2. Love the record label! Workin' in a Colemine!
  3. Kenny Gioia is a great Reaper video teacher. The first link is to his website. The second is to his YouTube channel (which also has the full v6 update videos). Check out video #16 (Takes & Comping) under Reaper 5 Explained. That may help with your question. http://www.kennymania.com/reaper-videos/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCq297H7Ca98HlB5mVFHGSsQ Here's the Takes & Comping video
  4. Ras Benny Good Man on the clarinet! 😉
  5. Great background music for a working day. 10 hours of nuevo flamenco.
  6. Looks nice, but...$249? My Rumble 40 combo only cost $200, and it's got an AUX In, a headphone out, and an XLR DI out. And it weighs only 18 lbs. OK, so it needs AC power. Nothing's perfect! 😋 Also, if you turn both OD controls (DRIVE and LEVEL) off (fully CCW) and connect a footswitch, you have a handy dandy MUTE function.
  7. You don't say if you're on Windows or Mac, so I'll offer a solution that is available for either...PreSonus audio interfaces come with Studio One Artist (a $99 purchase normally). Some good choices in your price range: PreSonus Studio 26c https://www.presonus.com/products/Studio-26c PreSonus AudioBox USB 96 https://www.presonus.com/products/AudioBox-USB-96 Note that you'll also need a pair of powered monitors to connect to your audio interface, so you might want to look for a bundle like this one: PreSonus AudioBox Studio Ultimate Bundle https://www.presonus.com/products/AudioBox-Studio-Ultimate-Bundle I have Reaper, but use Studio One almost exclusively. With Studio One Artist, you may want to consider adding 3rd party VST support: PreSonus Artist Booster Packs https://shop.presonus.com/Artist-Booster
  8. I've been leaving the bass and treble controls in their detent center position (I'm hoping that's truly neutral) on my 4 string. One other thing. The battery. It fits snuggly. Took me a bit of time to carefully wiggle it out. This is my first active bass, and when the battery got low, it started emitting a low tone every so often. Took me a second or a hundred to figure out what the "problem" was. Of course, the battery was the last thing I checked.
  9. OK, now we're talkin'! Loverly. How's it playing? One of my dogs is named Sparky. Almost thought you got me there, and then saw Puppy. Only then did I realize it was Snarky and not Sparky. 😂
  10. And a really terrific 13 minute documentary on him.
  11. More mellowness. This is Juan Areco. I had the distinct pleasure of getting to listen to him dozens of times while he was playing at the Biltmore in Coral Gables in 1997, and i was there 2 weeks/month for a year on a consulting gig.
  12. Not reggae, but this multi-artist hits album is a great listen.
  13. A different question might be: what headphones are you using? What number of ohms. The VOX headphone amp is almost certainly designed for 32-60 ohm headphones. If I were to plug my 250 ohm Beyerdynamics into one, I'd get very low volume as well. That's why I bought a second, less expensive pair of cans.
  14. Quite different. This version is growing on me. Great guitar work, compared to the other version, where the guitarist either couldn't do more or wasn't given more to play.
  15. I can't tell you how much I like this! I have dozens of Brubeck CDs!
  16. Terrific! And times in at 4:20! My kinda song!
  17. PBS documentary on Nils 50th anniversary in music.
  18. Here's the listserv I was on in the mid-90s. We came up with this T-shirt.
  19. Another Rush one: Fly By Night -> Caress Of Steel Fly By Night was my first Rush show (at B'ginnings in Schaumburg, IL). I also got to attend one of the few Down The Tubes tour shows (as Rush referred to the Caress Of Steel tour). Caress Of Steel (severely underrated IMO) made 2112 possible.
  20. Very cool! I'd never heard this before. I used to run into Nils (and his wife Amy, IIRC) when he wasn't touring at a place in south Scottsdale called Los Sombreros (we called it The Hat) on Wednesdays at opening time. He was always pretty quiet; Amy did all of the talking. She even talked Nils into gifting me a couple of DVDs of solo shows he'd done. Still have them!
  21. Now for something completely different. Gin Wigmore from New Zealand. Here's her first U.S.-made video.
  22. I've got both Blackstar Fly 3 amps (guitar and bass). The guitar Fly 3 is surprisingly good. The bass Fly 3 was a complete disappointment.
