  1. Sub'd. I'm considering the same change for my active-only Ibanez SR Mezzo. Like the bass. Don't like the electronics. Or the feel of the pots when operated.
  2. Superb! I got into Amon Düül II in Munich in '71, and picked up on Gong through that crowd. Hillage hadn't joined yet (still BL of Khan), but he fit right in when he did. I've spent a LOT of money on Hillage's work, through 777/System 7.
  3. Love it! One man rhythm section! Like Nick Mason said, "a band is drums and bass and assorted novelty instruments". Terrific video editing, too.
  4. An underviewed gem! Q: Is the image in your sig from Ozric Tentacles (one of my all-time favs!)? Or Gong? Gotta be one of the two. Of course, I've been wrong before. For example, I have 3 ex's.
  5. I've had the pleasure of hearing Chick do this tune live, and I've got to say that I found your version just as compelling!
  6. Really digging Level 42 since Mark King was featured on the cover of the latest Bass Player magazine. LOVE his bass playing!
  7. For some reason, just love the neck. Like the headstock, too.
  8. Good news. Thanks for the confirmation.
  9. Now we're talking. Not in stock yet in the U.S., so will have to wait for a bit. If I would ever put it in a recording chain, one thing I won't use is the USB interface. I'll stick with the Line Out to my existing audio interface. 96KHz/24-bit vs 48KHz/16-bit for the Tone Pocket. And this bullet point from Ashdown's website is concerning: - Compatible with Win98 SE / Win ME / Win 2000 / Win XP and Mac OS9 / OS X without Additional Driver For a brand new device, look at the supported OS's "without Additional Driver". There's a rabbit hole I don't want to go down.
  10. Here's the video that sold me on the 4-string Sea Foam Pearl.
  11. Well written review! Gator makes really solid gig bags and amp stands. I bought the Transit series bass bag. It was US$110 vs. US$165 for the Pro-Go series bass bag, and I didn't need the additional storage. It's also sturdier than you might guess. I've got a hard case for my SG, but use the Transit case for my 34" Jazz or 32" SR Mezzo (those movable neck supports work great). EDIT: I just found this very basic "how we make them" video.
  12. I've got this album in my Amazon Music Slits playlist. Return Of The Giant Slits, indeed! Reminds me of the artist who creates wine labels for Washington State wines. I met him once, and asked him "why Kung Fu Girl" Riesling? His answer? "Because girls and riesling kick a$$!"
  13. A '63 Fender Jazz and '64 brownface Fender Bassman, both purchased used in '67, and a Farfisa Mini. All given away by my mother for f'ing free while I was overseas in the Army. I've done a lot of stupid things in my life, but I would NEVER have parted ways with any of that gear. Easy to blame mom for the decades of resulting G.A.S.! 😋
  14. Excellent tuneage! And, sadly, so apropos.
  15. I liked this quite a bit more than expected from the photo! That said, I still prefer this version.
  16. Just released by the band...the uncensored video of Jeremy.
