2. I've recently downsized from my b9.1ut too. I decided on an ms60b. The only thing I'd say is about the ms60b is that the patch selection mid gig is a tad fiddly (but not impossible). You have to press a knob then twist to select desired patch. I use it in a way that I just use one patch therefore the compactness of the unit greatly outweighs the fiddliness for me. It's not to say you can't swap patches mid set. If I was going yo use a handful of presets I'd be more inclined to go with the b3 I think. Sounwise my ms60b is just as good as the b9.1ut, so absolutely delighted with it in that regard. One thing I do miss from it is the up front eq section where u can make adjustments on the fly but on the ms60b again it's a matter of delving into menus to do that. One extra point to think about is that the b3 can hold 3 effects in line, where the ms60b can do 4.

4. Hey, Does this have the conectors too?
5. £46 posted. A few scuff marks to be expected but works perfectly. Only getting rid of as I dont need it on my current board, so it will be sitting doing nothing for the forseeable. I'm sure when I got it I got it in a bass ns-2 box but cant put my hands on it right now velcro on the bottom. Looking for a sale, or looking to trade for some sort of power distibutor - enough to power 5+ pedals. Has to be smallish too. With money from my side added of course.
6. That was excellent. I know it was only flying rigs, but interesting to see such 'basic' setups with shop bought gear. Good to see about the behringer mixer. That's very cool.

Zoom MS60-B

Well I've just picked up an ms-60b and after playing with it for 2 hours I can instantly see some flaws, but overall I absolutely love it! A quick run through of my +/-'s +ves: sounds great! simple. Within minutes I had set up my patch how Id like it, and I'm ready to gig with it. Feels pretty sturdy Nice screen. I love the fact you can swap the chain order to try out different noises. -ves: The 3 knobs which double up as buttons are very sensitive so I keep pressing the button when I mean to just turn the knob, resulting in it opening up different menus etc. Bit of a nuisance. Cant see me changing patches on stage (which luckily shouldnt be a problem as I plan on running just the one patch) When holding the stomp down to activate tuner, it also activates whatever effect is in the window for that second before it mutes. Again, not a major issue for me, but if you had a high gain effect there it might be more of an issue.
8. As others have said, pretty ordinary band (with very ordinary songs) if you take the novelty away. Fair play to them though, they're doin pretty well, and if they were a local band I'd probably sing their praises.
9. Tracking wise it seems to be just as good as the OC-3 I have. With the OC-3 though you can alter the dry and wet signals independently so its clearly going to be more versatile. its also polytone so you can play chords and it will still work where the BSW seems to be single notes (which is fine for me). The BSW seems to be quite a fat octave down, rather than a precise tone, so might not suit everyones needs. But for me, its solved a wee problem. And it means I can get away with haveing one less pedal in my chain. So in other words, Im not saying the oc-3 I have is bad (in fact its pretty good IMO) but the BSW does a good enough octaver for my needs. The OC-2 on the other hand has a very unique tone apparently which you can only get from an oc-2 (not even from the oc-2 mode on the oc-3) and thus gains a lot of love around these parts. Cant say I've tried one so cant really make opinions of my own.
10. I find the synth ok for my needs.... Ie long drawn notes, but for anything more intricate I struggle to get anything useable out it. re ms60b.... I plan to use it as my preamp so I'd rather not have two patches, with two sets of eq to fiddle with. I like to keep things simpLe as possible. But that definitely seems to be a popular way of using it.
11.
You might find as I did that the tracking on the Zoom is pretty darn good, the 'Pitch' setting (I think that's the one I use) works better then any other octaver I've tried.
Interesting! Although I really plan on using the zoom as a preamp/compressor/noise gate/tuner and never really use it for any effects as such. If I understand it correctly you can use it as a stomp box with the effect that you leave on the digital read out? if thats the case then perhaps thats another option. Incidentally, whilst mucking about with different options, it seems that my oc-3 also does quite an interesting synthy style fuzz when mixed with a touch of octave can sound really meaty. (at bedroom volumes I must admit)
12.
I didn't realise it could be used as just an octaver. Is this setting 8 with the Range knob turned all the way down?
That's it. I read on here somewhere that it can do the octave down with no dry signal but I can't work out how... Which suggests you probably can't.
13. Yep, its ridicolous how cheap they are..... I've just bought myself a zoom ms60b from thomann (plus a few other bits and bobs) yesterday, wish I thought about it and just popped another one into my basket.
14. Just mucking about with my pedal board, trying to reduce it drastically in size. I've got an oc-3 on my board which to be fair I've never really had problems with live but I thought I'd swap it out for the BSW and the tracking on the octaver 'seems' to be immense! I dont know whether to try it live or not but in practice it seems to cut the mustard. The only issue I have is that I also need the pedal for some long synthy noises, which means I'd either have to dabble with the knobs mid-set or I'd simply just need to get another BSW (meaning the point of the exercise has been lost somewhat) Anyone else tried other octavers and ended up using the BSW for you sub bass needs?
15. Anyone use one currently? I fancy a boss PS3/PS5 but the price is putting me off (simply because I will e using this pedal for 10 seconds in a set - plus I'm a tight arse). The behringer seems to get good reviews and although its made out of plastic it seems to be reasonably sturdy. Just seeing if anyone uses one currently on a pedal board? Is it tone sucking? Noisy? Is the switch sturdy enough for light to medium use? I bought one anyway and its on its way to me, Just thought I'd get some opinions whilst I'm awaiting delivery. It 'seems' from video reviews that it tracks just as well as the boss, but im more worried about the tone sucking than anything else! Fraser
16. I play in a hip hop band, and before I did I was pretty ignorant when it came to the genre. Over the past 2 years though I've began to 'get' it. Really enjoy a bit of jurassic 5, and de la soul now.'#4/
17. Signed. Although according to that link there is a technical reason why they cant do it, so is there much point. (i didnt read the whole thing just the first post)

GAK

Yep, Bought a number of things from GAK, They are now generally my first port of call when looking for a new toy.
19. I've never tried one, but I can tell you that you will be told to get a zoom B3.
20. I've came to the conclusion that effects on bass need to be fuill on, and theres no such thing as a 'touch of' an effect on bass. Touch of flange, touch of chorus, touch of phaser, touch of dirt, touch of octave etc. go full on, or else thr only person that notices is you!! Anyone else agree?
21. I've owned 4 bass heads in the past 7 years. Ashdown, hartke, behringer (haha) and ampeg. My ampeg pf350 is the only one that hasnt stopped working (yet). My guitarist mate has just recently had to get his blackstar head fixed as it stopped working. I appreciate that each of these were towards the budget end of the market, but it just proves that no amps are 100% reliable. Id also suggest that the cheaper amps will sell in far larger quantity, so therefore the number that break might seem higher.
22. i currently used a zzom b9.1ut but only use it for the sounds i mentioned above. Therefore making it a real waste of time carrying it about. I shoudl mention i would have to buy some sort of whammy pedal which is the reason for not just buying a ms60b a formality.
23. Yes. its another ms60b thread. Hopefully this is lightly different to the normal ones we read. Now that the ms60 has been out for a while and im assuming some of you are gigging it week in week out, my question is how are you using it? I want to know because I want to know if people are using it the way I would want to.... and if its up to the job. Basically I want it as a tuner/noise gate/compressor/preamp(with possible cab sim) at the end of my chain. I dont plan to use it for any effects as such (dist/od/synth/oct) so i plan to use it just to simply glue the sounds together. Anyone else use it like this? If so, can it do a decent job? or is there anything else that may do a simliar job?
24. One of these was my very proper bass amp too when i was 16. I seem to remember it being extremely loud but perhaps im mis-remembering. Absolutely dreadful amp though. Sounded absolutely pish.
